Dumbest...Robbers...Ever
http://mmamania.com/2008/10/06/dumbest-robbers-ever/
Quote:
“… two gunman held [Lloyd] Irvin, his son, wife and UFC light heavyweight contender Brandon Vera at gun point while demanding to be directed towards valuables like cash or jewelry. While one gunman held Irvin’s family hostage, another gunman directed Irvin to the the master bedroom. According to Irvin, he led the gunman toward his bedroom. Once in the bedroom, Irvin said he noticed the other gunman was far enough away down the hall to make a move to disarm the attacker in his bedroom. Irvin, an expert in Sambo defensive gun and knife techniques, was able to get a hold of the gun in the attacker’s hands, first separating the clip from the gun and then removing the gun from the attacker’s hands. At that point, the attacker in Irvin’s room ran yelling to his accomplice that Irvin had his gun and both gunman fled the house…. Police were called to the scene and have launched an investigation. According to Irvin, no one in his family was physically hurt, although the psychological trauma at this point is considerable.”
One has to imagine that the assailants had staked out their marks prior to making the bold move of moving in on UFC light heavyweight Brandon Vera and his equally skilled instructor, Lloyd Irvin, with hand guns. Even if the pair didn’t it’s equally as dumb. Fortunately none of the victims were physically harmed in the stick up. “The Truth” heads out to London, England, this week as his preparation for Keith Jardine tapers as fight night approaches on October 18. Hopefully the incident does not affect his performance. Head over to BloodyElbow.com to check out the entire report.

Shame they got away, would of been quality if Vera and Irvin wompled them.
You guys may aswell give a pick to Jardine/Vera here if you please.
I say Jardine decisions him, Vera isn't a Houston or Wanderlei, so therefore Jardine is quality.

ive got love for Vera but i believe now that Jardine is going to win, will Vera really take it to the ground>
?mm who knows.
I see the fight going like this-
Vera coming in with the higher pace with jabs and low swift kicks and Jardine starting slow as usual with the occasional counter, Jardine then starts pushing Vera into the Cage and elbows and knees the crap out of him for the last 30 seconds.
2 round- Vera more cautious but still aware of his last poor performance rallies and unloads some good combos ad takes Jardine to the floor, Jardine pulls guard and the fights stood up, last minute of the round Jardines power starts to show and catches Vera with a low right and left hook to stagger Vera.
3 Round both fighters tired but both go at it and Jardine continually chops Vera down with left and right leg kicks, both go in the clinch and with 2 minutes left Jardine throws a couple of hooks and catches Vera with knees to win via TKO.

Hey let's go rob a professional MMA fighter and his professional sambo trainer, sounds like a great plan. What a bunch of morons.

I seriously doubt Jardine is going to finish Vera who is a very talented Muay Thai striker with knees. And since when does Kieth ever throw elbows? Seriously i dont think ive ever seen him throw a knee or an elbow in all honesty but i havent watched most of his fights to be honest either.

I see Jardine taking this by TKO late in the second or third.

If I was 100% of seeing Brandon Vera at his best, not tentative and shy. I'd pick him to win. But I just don't see it after his last performance.

Keith Jardine wins a UD as a result of his awkwardness.
Brandon Vera is so overhyped, it's ridiculous.

First off. Thank God that went the way it did. I train at Lloyds. He isnt just a Sambo coach. He is our mentor, he is our leader, and one of the best all round coaches in the game.
Second, Vera will win. i think he will finish Keith in the second.
