Chuck Liddell on "ice" until the spring

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell stated in a recent interview that he doesn’t plan to return anytime soon. “I'll fight sometime in the spring. Probably I'll go for a fight in the spring so we'll see, we'll see who'll they [the UFC] put me up against.” With losses in three of out his last four fights, some are wondering what more the former champion has to prove.
After Rashad Evans gets his title shot against Forrest Griffin and Quinton Jackson gets a third shot at Wanderlei Silva, things in the UFC’s light heavyweight division might clear up.
There are also a few other light heavyweight fights to keep your eye on as well, as Lyoto Machida takes on Thiago Silva and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua returns to the Octagon against Mark Coleman.
The light heavyweight picture in the UFC should be a little clearer by the time spring rolls around.

This is a shame. I was enjoyed watching Chuck fight. I hope he gets his head together and mixes up his training. I wan't to see him get back to his way of KOing people.

I hope in this time he doesn't retire, I'm sure right now he's going to do some soul searching. And he may come to the conclusion that it's time to hang up his gloves.

I love to watch him fight. And despite how happy I was when Rashad won, I was still sad to see just how brutal it was. Chuck was a great champion, and without him the UFC wouldn't be where it's at.

If he does come back, the UFC should give him a few easy fights, and he should lay off headlining events for a while. If he is to bounce back, he needs to not be pressured so hard ya know.

That's my two cents.

I think Machida has the most potential of any MMA fighter in the world. I would love to see him get a chance at the title.

i used to be pessimistic when it came to machida ever getting a titleshot. but if he beats Thiago then i really dont see any way the UFC can keep him from it, there just wont be any more exuses left.....

Machida is the most boring negative fighter iv seen for ages. He is talanted, but i dont wanna see him as champion due to his style.

Looking at the title I was thinking about a new show 'Chuck Liddel on Ice' perhaps in a similar vein to 'the incredibles on ice'.
I'd watch it.
