Lesnar is going to beat Couture and continue to improve on his way to becoming the undisputed champion. Just because Mir caught him in a sub doesn mean he is not capable of good sub defense. I am sure that if he gets out of the first round without being subbed he will not get subbed because a man that size with the accumulated sweat of round 1 is going to be pretty difficult to hold onto. Lesnar just has to get his points with his takedowns cuz, lets face it people will not be successful too often trying to sprawl, and Lesnar will win by points. He wont even have to finish anyone cuz he can just take them down and ride them or try to utilize some safe GnP.
First off Couture isn't the best heavyweight in the UFC Nogueira is, and just because Couture "raped" Gonzaga doesn't mean Lesnar would, Lesnar wouldn't even make it out of the first round if he fought Gonzaga.

Yeah, I think Gonzaga would take Lesnar. his subs are too good for Lesnar to last out the fight, and Lesnar doesn't have the tools to finish Gonzaga right now.

That wouldn't really matter against Brock though.

Gabe subs Brock any day of the week also.

Tough match-up for Brock, It would be silly for the UFC to make it.
Werdum, Nogueira, Gonzaga and Mir are fights Brock wants to avoid for now.

All you guys can enjoy keeping your heads up your @$$es for as long as you wish. I'm sure when Brock destroys Couture ther'll still be reasons why GG beats him easily...

But you'll be the ones eating all them words in the end, thats a gaurantee.

Gabe would be dangerous for Brock if he was significantly faster than he is currently. It'll probably happen in 09 I bet.

LOL couldn't agree more +rep. Don't you just love how Brock mauls a good veteran in his third fight MMMAAAUUULLLSSS him, and we still get "Brock would get destroyed" talk.

Oh and I already have the post-Couture argument: "Yeah, but Brock won't have that size advantage against his next opponent. Hmmmm..Randy sure was small in there maybe he should go back to LHW" LOLOLOLOL

A groan of tedium escapes me...

The Brock supporters do realize that Randy and Gabe are different fighters right? That they are not interchangeable? Brock's biggest threat against Randy is that he is a monster who can outmuscle him. With Gonzaga its not going to matter. He wont be as small as Randy and if it hits the ground lesnar is going to tap. And I wouldnt say Lesnar "MAAAAUUUUULED" Herring. He landed a massive punch and then rode on top of him for 3 rounds utilizing ground and pound every once in a while. Hardly what I would call the most dominating performance in MMA history, hell there was more dominating performances on that card.

Yeah, I think a big part of the problem with Herring is that Herring did nothing better than Brock really. Because Herring's jitz and standup are only average for the HW division, he couldn't use either to nullify Brock's wrestling. And Brock obviously had both the wrestling skill and size advantage.

Let's face it, Heath is experienced, but he just isn't that good. He was 4 and 4 in his last 8 fights before fighting Brock. He lost to Jake Obrien and Sam Greco FFS, Greco is a really mediocre grappler and O'Brien has no skills outside his wrestling. Besides a split decision win to Kongo (who strangely decided to make it a wrestling match, to Heath's advantage) his last meaningful win was against Igor Vovchanchyn in 2002.

So Brock deserves commendation for beating Herring, but let's not pretend he's vetted now. He has yet to beat a guy with any top-flight skills.

You must of not seen Heath Herring get the same thing done to him by Jake O'Brian? Go watch that fight, Herring sucks when it comes to wrestlers.
