Brian Stann off of UFN 16 card due to injury

Stann and Cantwell first clashed at WEC 26 in March of 2007 with Stann winning via TKO in just 41 seconds into round 1. Stann would go on to claim the WEC light heavyweight title and made his first defense against Cantwell at WEC 35 on August 3. This time around, it was Cantwell who got the win, becoming the new champ following a second round TKO.
No word on a possible replacement for Stann is known at this time.
The show, which will be broadcast on Spike TV, will be a fundraiser for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support to deceased and wounded U.S. military veterans.

Sucks for Stann

Sucks more for Cantwell... There aren't a whole lot of LHW's he will fair well against in the UFC IMO.

I don't think it was really time for a Stann vs. Cantwell 3 already. It does suck for Cantwell tho. Most UFC LHW guys will be a challenge for him. Give him Pat Reese or maybe Jardine. I can't really think of many others he could compete with.

Damn, I was looking forward to this fight.

"When I hear athletes call themselves warriors, it does bother me a little bit. When I think of a warrior, I think of the Marines I've led in combat, those Marines that sacrificed so showers, little food, no contact with their family, all for their love for their brother Marine and for their love for their country. That's a warrior, willing to lay his life on the line. I've had Marines that have laid their lives on the line for the man next to him, and for their family and country. That's a warrior. The guy who goes into some athletic contest who has no war experience, in my eyes, really has no right to call himself that. That's a coveted thing to call someone, and that's what I call my Marines. Those are warriors." - Brian Stann
