Pretty interesting. But I can't help but think about what was said about the Couture/Lesnar fight. I think the gist of it was putting fights together that people wanted to see and not what rankings would suggest. That is pretty bad as well, at least it is to me.

You have a point. The reason that this is much worse, is that when Brock and Randy step in to the octagon, no one will have an impact on the outcome except for the 3 people in the octagon. No one is paying Brock to keep it in the clinch against the cage, so that Randy has a better chance to win.

i personally think they would have fed him cans as long as there where cans left on the face of the planet. the problem they would have gotten would have been that they would have gotten short of " big name cans " like frank shamrock... a guy ho everybody knows but is just to old to do anything big.
i dont get this either.... they must have KNOWN it was coming

I don't feel bad for them at all. Like you said, anyone with half a brain saw this coming eventually (not neccesarily from Seth).
I think you mean Ken Shamrock, though. Frank isn't that old and would surely crush Kimbo.

Then CBS throws this guy who fights at people’s barbecues on the main event because they’re trying to compete with us..

Speaking of Frank, I had heard that he was at the event to do commentary, and for a short moment it was thought that he would be the one that replaced Ken. Frank said he was cleared by the Athletic Commission to fight, but EliteXC shot the idea down. That just shows that they really didn't want Kimbo to fight a really tough opponent.

I think Dana has a right to be mad at EXC. He has busted his ass to promote mma and make it a legitimate sport and EXC has damaged it.
I can't even remember how many people I talked into watching the first event on CBS, even though I was concerned it was EXC, and how many came back to me the following Monday and said mma sucks. The second event...hell, I didn't even remember it was on. Those people who stuck with it after the first show and watched this third event weren't happy either. I kept hearing the whole "how can one of the best fighters lose to that ***git?" In other words, EXC/CBS possibly set mma back. That's the sense that I'm getting from people I talk to.

kimbo is a great street fighter, but mixed martial arts is a completely different ball game...
