1. Randy Couture

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (I know they would never fight but this is just for fun)

3. Brock Lesnar

4. Fabricio Werdum

5. Cheick Kongo

6. Antoni Hardonk

7. Cain Velasquez

8. Gabriel Gonzaga

9. Tim Sylvia

10. Andrei Arlovski

Anderson Silva said himself in an interview that he cuts from 213. He looked good at 205 against a KO Puncher so how would he do against these guys?

I could see him beating any of these people tbh. Lesnar, Kongo, Sylvia, Arlovski would be the easiest.

Gonazga and Nogueira would be the toughest I think.

I am not familiar with Hardonk, will have to research)

1) Randy would get knocked out by round 2. A. Silva has far superior striking, head movement, and a nasty clinch game. I don't think Cpt. America has him beat anywhere on the feet. I think Silva is a terrible matchup for someone like Randy who likes to use the cage and dirty box. He would find out real quick what a few knees from Silva's clinch feel like, just like Franklin did. In fact, I see this match up going alot like Franklin Silva 1.

2) I think Nog would win a hard fought battle by third round sub. I think Nog has a better ground game and would use size and unorthadox takedowns to wear Silva down. The fact that he trains with Silva will help with the mytique surrounding Silva, so he won't have the A.Silva-jitters. Nog also has the heart of a champion, and won't have his spirit broken. I think that is a huge factor in A. Silva's fights. He intimidates people so much, and frustrates them with his superior striking to the point where they lose heart. Still, I see it being very close.

3) Lesnar would be knocked out, 10 seconds, round 1

4) Werdum would be a very interesting fight. I think Werdum is smart enough to take his time and not engage ina stand up match. Getting A. Silva down would be another story. I could actually see this going to a decision. Perhaps a late sub from Werdum or late KO from Silva. Would be a sick match!

5) Kongo: Ko, round 1 for Silva.

6) ditto

7) ditto

8) Gabe is a beast on the ground, and a big man in general, which could pose some issues. Gabe has decent striking but just like Werdum if he tried to trade punches I think he would find A. Silva too quick. If Gabe pushed the pace and held Silva down I could see him wearing silva down for the sub, but I can see a KO from Silva being just as likely since Silva has a great gaurd and may just neatralize Gabe.

9) I think A. Silva beats Tim in every aspect. Tim would not want any part of A. Silva on the ground, and he would get picked apart on the feet. Tim is so slow and telegraphs his moves. A. Silva is elusive and quick. Tim get's knocked out in round 2.

10) AA has crisp boxing, and he is quick on his feet. AA problem is he doesn't move his head enough. I could see AA doing quite well against Silva for the first round or two, but I see A. Silva's superior head movement and precise punching getting him the late TKO or decision.

Of those heavyweights, I think he would beat Couture, Hardonk, Werdum, and possibily Sylvia, maybe Gonzaga if Silva can get it past the first round; as for the rest, no. Just because he fought at 205 doesn't mean he can fight heavyweights. Good god, the size differential is enough to decide the fight.

To quote Mr. Irvin, "there's weight classes for a reason."

1. Randy Couture(He could beat him)

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (I know they would never fight but this is just for fun) (silva would lose)

3. Brock Lesnar (silva would lose. Were looking at at least a 100 pound weight and strength advantage for lesnar)

4. Fabricio Werdum (Silva would win)

5. Cheick Kongo (This is a tough one.I think kongo might be too big for silva to handle, but silva definitely has way better striking)

6. Antoni Hardonk (silva wins)

7. Cain Velasquez (silva wins.Cain has a similar skillset to lesnar but he isnt nearly as big, powerful, or fast)

8. Gabriel Gonzaga (silva would lose)

9. Tim Sylvia (silva loses.Tim has a huge reach advantage)

10. Andrei Arlovski (silva loses. Andrei has good striking and is alot bigger than silva)

^My choices.they have different weight classes for a reason

Wouldn't dream of it.

This is fxcking ridiculous. I love Silva as much as the next guy (trust me I really do), but this is too far-fetched.

Sure he could beat Kongo and Valezquez and maybe Hardonk, but Couture? Werdum? Lesnar?!

Lesnar could beat Silva easily. How? By taking him down to the ground. Silva's weakness is wrestling and that is Lesnar's ticket to victory. He could lay on top of him and I doubt even Silva has long enough legs to triangle Brock. The amount of Silva nuthuggery on these boards is ridiculous.
It is almost like you guys have never watched Bj Penn, Machida, or A. Silva fight. Just because you are strong enough to take someone down, doesn't mean they are going to elt you get a hold of them. You can shoot all you wan't, if the opponent is ready for it and backtracks you are going to eat a punch or a knee. then you move more.

I am not even an A. Silva fan, so these constant accusations of nuthuggery are ridiculous.

You doubt if he has long enough legs? Are you insane? Brock and A. Silva are almost the same height! Lesnar is one inch taller! How could his legs not be long enough?

1. Randy Couture - I think Randy could get Anderson down, but I don't think he'd be able to pass Anderson's guard. I think that he'd either get submitted by Anderson, or knocked out after a stand-up from an inability to do anything within Silva's guard. Silva via submission, 2nd round.

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - This fight could go either way I think, it would completely depend on if Nog could get Anderson down and pass his guard immediately. Seeing as Nogueira uses leg trips and single legs instead of double legs, he wouldn't fall right into Anderson's guard, and in that case I think he could submit him. If Nogueira can't get Silva down though, he loses a decision. I'd probably pick Nogueira though, just because he always finds a way to get the fight to the ground and Anderson's takedown defense could still use improvement. Nogueira via submission 3rd round.

3. Brock Lesnar - He'd absolutely pick Lesnar apart with his footwork. He'd be able to get in and out of the pocket and punish Brock.. I could actually see him finishing Lesnar with a flying knee as Brock shoots in. Silva via TKO, 2nd round.

4. Fabricio Werdum - Werdum, doesn't usually fair too well against strikers, but he'd have a substantial size advantage in this fight. Like the Nogueira match-up, it would entirely depend on whether Werdum could get the fight to the ground without having to pass Silva's guard once it gets there. Werdum via submission, 3rd round.

5. Cheick Kongo - I think Anderson would submit Kongo. He'd be winning the stand-up, but Kongo would take the fight to the ground with his strength. Once it gets there, Anderson locks up a triangle or armbar and makes Cheick tap. Anderson Silva, submission 1st/2nd round.

6. Antoni Hardonk - This would be a fun fight. Hardonk has great leg kicks, but Anderson is definitely the more well-rounded striker. I'd pick Anderson to win via TKO, 1st round.. Hardonk wouldn't be able to do anything with Silva on the ground.

7. Cain Velasquez - I'd actually pick Velasquez in this. His wrestling is great and his grappling looks to be pretty impressive. A wrestler with a great grappling game could really pose issues for Silva on the ground.

8. Gabriel Gonzaga- Gonzaga would take the fight to the ground and win a round. Gonzaga would more than likely gas from taking Silva down and not being able to do anything, Silva would proceed to pick Gonzaga apart with his boxing, and more than likely drop him with a straight punch, finishing him with strikes on the ground. Silva via TKO in the 2nd round.

9. Tim Sylvia- Tim Sylvia's ground game will always be his weakness, so he'd try to keep the fight standing against Silva. Either way, on the ground or standing Silva wins this fight. I'd pick Silva to win via TKO in the second or a unanimous decision.

10. Andrei Arlovski - Andrei Arlovski's chin isn't the greatest, he's like a tank without much armor. Standing this would be a very technical bout, but once again, Silva has more tools to beat Arlovski. Like Apecity said, Arlovski lacks head movement, something Silva has in spades. Silva would drop Andrei with a straight punch, finishing him with strikes on the ground. Silva via TKO, 2nd round.
Finally someone talking some sense.

1. Randy Couture-prolly could beat randy, would look something like the hendo fight

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (I know they would never fight but this is just for fun) dont think hed pull that out

3. Brock Lesnar-ko or tap most likely, could be rough though

4. Fabricio Werdum- hed either get tapped or ko werdum

5. Cheick Kongo- prolly wouldnt fair to well, maybe hed tap him out

6. Antoni Hardonk- he could tap him, but thats about it

7. Cain Velasquez- i dont know

8. Gabriel Gonzaga- to big to good.

9. Tim Sylvia- itd be tough but i think hed win

10. Andrei Arlovski - to big and to good

1. Randy Couture
(Anderson Silva by KO / R2. Couture is getting old and he would get caught in the clinch with knees and elbows if he decides to dirty box with Silva.)

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
(Nogueira by Submission / R3. It would be a tough fight for Nogueira since Silva is way better standing but after a lot of punishment he would get him down and catch him in a Guillotine or an Armbar.)

3. Brock Lesnar
(Anderson Silva by KO / R1. Lesnar has never dealt with such a well rounded fighter and also dangerous fighter like Anderson Silva.)

4. Fabricio Werdum
(Werdum by Submission / R2. Werdum is obviously way better than Silva at BJJ top or bottom but getting him down would be the question. It would be a long hard fight for both but Werdum catches him some type of choke.)

5. Cheick Kongo
(Kongo by TKO/KO R2. Cheick is way better standing + KO Power and actually has explosive take downs. Anderson Silva would get beat in the stand up and try to go for a take down after 10 minutes, that's when Kongo catches him. If not, he gets overwhelmed standing.)

6. Antoni Hardonk
(Same story above. TKO/KO R2)

7. Cain Velasquez
(Hard to Call.)

8. Gabriel Gonzaga
(Anderson Silva by TKO / R1.) Gonzaga is outclassed standing and can't do anything to Silva on the ground because The Spider has enough defensive BJJ.)

9. Tim Sylvia
(Anderson Silva by Unanimous Decision OR Submission. Sylvia would get outstruck worse than his fight with Couture.)

10. Andrei Arlovski
(Arlovski by Unanimous Decision. He would be way too defensive in this bout if he's fighting a better striker or grappler than himself. He would hit and run for 3 Rounds trying not to get hit.

Its freaking unbelievable the amount of lesnar hate on here.He was in WWE, big deal.So was ken shamrock(he sucks now, but he used to own). There is no way anderson could beat lesnar.Lesnar's skull is way too thick for silva to KO him in one hit, which would happen when lesnar takes him down.Lesnar would pound him out for a TKO win.And no, the choi hong man vs fedor fight is in no way relevant or even similar to a anderson silva vs brock lesnar match

Lawl, you like, said "NUTHUGGERY!" Anyway, I don't think it's as much of them praising Silva than it is downplaying Lesnar.

Haha actually, Valezquez would probably have a better shot beating Silva than Couture would. And Werdum isn't a big heavyweight; if Silva can keep the fight standing he wins easily.

Everyone already knows how that would go.

I can see Silva beating a lot of smaller heavyweights such as Randy. I can also see him doing well against Tim and a few others.

I don't think he could take Lesnar at all and I don't think he could take Gonzaga either.

Arlovski/Silva is a great fight. That's one that would be very interesting to watch.

I'm not a Lesnar fan at all but he could not beat Lesnar. The first time Silva gets close Lesnar would use his size and power to handle Silva completely. Silva is a better fighter, however, the size difference makes Silva's skill worthless here.

1. Randy Couture (Anderson by TKO in the first, yeah I said it)

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (I know they would never fight but this is just for fun) (Nog by dec. He trains with him, and probably knows his weakness. And Anderson just isn't going to knock him out.)

3. Brock Lesnar (I have no idea, I want to say Anderson, but Lesnar I think could overpower him to a ref stoppage.)

4. Fabricio Werdum (Anderson by dec, I don't see him stopping Werdum)

5. Cheick Kongo (Anderson by KO anytime he pleases)

6. Antoni Hardonk (Anderson by ref stoppage in the 3rd, he'd wear him out)

7. Cain Velasquez (Uhm.. I have no idea at this point.)

8. Gabriel Gonzaga (Either Anderson by TKO in the first or second, or Gonzaga by flash KO. I see it happen one of those three ways)

9. Tim Sylvia (I see Sylvia taking this by dec, just because of height and strength.)

10. Andrei Arlovski (This would be a dream fight for me, and I see Anderson by ref stoppage late in the second.

My picks, just read the ()'s.

He'd be an interesting challenge for Fedor, but ultimately Fedor would beat him IMO.

To be fair that was his MMA debut.

Arlovski has taken some hard shots in his career. I mean early in his career he defiantly didn't have a good chin but Rothwell has some power and landed a couple shots that Arlovski took fine.
The thing is, chins don't really change over time. I mean, every time Arlovski has been knocked out, it's been from one punch. Datsik isn't a knockout artist, but he dropped Andrei like a sack of potatoes with a single strike. Anderson is known for connecting on the button, and I think his straight punches are hard enough to drop even tough heavyweights. Just look at the force of his punch against Irvin, that shit was nasty.

I don't see Anderson being able to outstrike Arlovski at HW there is such a big difference between outstriking top MW's and HW's.
Andrei's definitely a big challenge, but I still think on the technical level Anderson is just more fluid and complete.

1. Randy Couture I think Randy would be able to work the clinch effectively and control him on the ground, UD Randy.

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (I know they would never fight but this is just for fun) Nog would get beat up badly standing but eventually every fight sees the ground, and Nog would pull it out there.

3. Brock Lesnar Lesnar would take him down the first time he instinctively went for the Thai clinch, at that point it's a ref stoppage. He's WAY to powerful and controlling on the ground. Standing he'll get picked apart as long as he lets it stay that way.

4. Fabricio Werdum Werdum I think gets beat by Anderson in all facets. KO standing or ref stoppage on the ground.

5. Cheick Kongo This would probably be the most entertaining fight, both are good on their feet but if Silva can avoid taking a serious shot he wins this one handily. On the ground Silva is superior.

6. Antoni Hardonk I don't really see any way for Hardonk to win this.

7. Cain Velasquez Silva wins on the feet, and might catch a lucky sub on the ground but Velasquez could easily outscore him on the ground.

8. Gabriel Gonzaga On the feet Silva would dominate, on the ground it would be a great fight but GG probably would win.

9. Tim Sylvia This would be an interesting matchup if Silva for some reason decided to keep it standing, on the ground Silva would dominate him. Silva overall.

10. Andrei Arlovski Another great matchup, they are not that far off size wise but AA is definitely more powerful. I think Silva would KO him though.
How do you see the fight going? I see Brock attempting to bull rush like he did with Herring and a. Silva side stepping him and landing a nice shot.
It's going to take a LOT more than that for him to beat Lesnar. This fight WILL go to the ground at some point, and at that point the fight is over, Lesnar would destroy him on the ground.

I mean..it isn't like it already happened before right? *cough* Irvin* Cough*
You can't possibly compare Lesnar to Irvin, they are two totally different fighters in every way.
I was compairing Hong man to Lesnar.
That's a stupid comparison, like Irvin they are two totally different fighters.
I agree Ape that 25 pounds doesn't necessarily dictate a victory, especially in the heavier weight classes.

#48 ·
I can't believe how ignorant most of the responses are. Silva couldn't come close to beating most of these guys. There are weight classes for a reason. Silva would lose to all of these guys. Maybe Hardonk would be close. Silva is the best pound-for-pound fighter. There is a reason that there is that phrase. It's because informed people know that lighter division guys can't beat the Heavyweights outright. The thought is if they were the same weight who would win? Come on people the days of light fighters beating heavy fighters are gone.

#49 ·
1. Randy Couture - Possibly sub or TKO.

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Nogueira by submission, he is Silva's mentor in BJJ. Nogueira would know all his weaknesses and cancel out his every moves.

3. Brock Lesnar - He wouldn't, I think Lesnar would take him down and lay and pray until he gets a submission win. Silva could get a submission but I think Brock could use that massive size and strength advantage. As long as he didn't try to much and laid there dropped punches that wouldn't open Brock up to much for submission he could win.

4. Fabricio Werdum - Decision if he managed to keep it standing.

5. Cheick Kongo - TKO or Submission

6. Antoni Hardonk - TKO or Submission

7. Cain Velasquez - Submission

8. Gabriel Gonzaga - Decision or TKO

9. Tim Sylvia - He wouldn't. Sylvia would use his reach and keep Sylvia out. Sylvia hasn't got as good technique as Silva but standing id say he would get the upper hand due to his massive size advantage. on the ground Silva but I don't think Silva could get him there.

10. Andrei Arlovski - Tough one to call, I think it is 50/50 and could go to a split decision.

#52 ·
I think Anderson will Knock everyone out except for Nog. Nog has showed once and again he can take a lot of punishment, and Anderson won't submit him. It's either a decision for Andy or submission for Nog.

Oh, and in case you don't know, having bigger muscles don't make someone's ching stronger, so yes, Anderson has more than enough power to Knock every HW out.

#53 ·
1. Randy Couture - I think anderson might be quick enough to keep randy on the outside and he could win via tko.

2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - I think nog survives until he gets a hold of anderson and he subs him.

3. Brock Lesnar - Brock is to fast and to strong. Silva will inevitably end up on the ground and lesnar finishes him by tko in 30seconds once it goes there.

4. Fabricio Werdum - Werdum will survive to get a hold of him, push him against the cage and sweep the much smaller fighter to the floor where he wins by sub or tko.

5. Cheick Kongo - Kongo will stay out andersons reach and come in with powerful low kicks, whether he slows anderson enough to get ahold of him and force it to the ground determines whether he loses via tko or wins via tko.

6. Antoni Hardonk - anderson via tko round 1.

7. Cain Velasquez - 50/50 cain survives to the ground or gets tkoed.

8. Gabriel Gonzaga - Silva overpowered and taken down tkoed by gabe 1st round.

9. Tim Sylvia - Anderson chops those legs down for a few minutes and beats tim with good head movement and accurate punches.

10. Andrei Arlovski - I see arlovski losing striking with anderson.
