If anyone could beat Anderson SIlva

at either MW or LHW I think it would be Ricardo Arona. His game is perfectly suited for beating Silva. He would have a huge stregnth and substantial grappling advantage. There is no way Silva could stop Arona's explosive shot. From the there Arona would use his superior ground game and control Silva the same way he did to Wanderlei.

Every other fighter at either LHW or MW I would favor Silva to beat. If you guys could pick one guy at either weight to beat him who would it be?

P.S. Your life would be dependant on your pick

1.Shogun
2.BJ
3.Fedor
4.Kos
5.GSP

Aleks hands are good, but for a Heavyweight - that's why they are so good, because he is a Heavyweight. I do agree though, I love his hands.

Jdun, I think you've got the perfect guy there. It's one I've never thought of aswell, so thanks.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

For once I totally agree with you, but Arona has HORRID stand up, he has the most stiffest posture and sticks his chin WAY out, so if he wants to win, he better have Silva down as soon as the bell rings.

I also think Machida, Lil Nog and Rampage would give him a good time at LHW.

I agree, but Arona has some awesome leg kicks. I never thought about an Arona/Silva match-up, and I actually agree with you on the match-up being bad for Silva Jdun, thanks.

MM=No one can beat him imo Bisping deserves the next try though
LHW=Rampage Wandy are all possibilities

But if I had to put 1000 dollars down and there was no way out of it the answer would not come from either of those weight classes but from welter weight. No other than "Rush himself" GSP baby

Arona would lie on him and win IMO.

Nogueira would beat him if they fought.

So would Rampage, Machida, and Shogun.

I honestly don't think he has the ground game to hang with the top 205'ers.

Facing Marquardt, Lutter and Henderson. Is very different then facing Arona, Nogueira, and Shogun on the ground.

Shogun would get destroyed. Standup its not even a contest, and even if you like Shoguns ground game better, how's he gonna get him there?

Machida would lose imo. He's as good a striker as Lyoto, and i think he would be able to cut him off like he did to Henderson in rnd 2. Hell, i was sitting in my chair at home, and he made ME feel trapped!

I think Rampage would get worked on his feet too, but could lay on him i suppose. Hard to submit that dude.

I dunno guys, Arona is interesting, but i still don't see it.

I don't think there is anyone around that would allow me to bet against Anderson at this point. Maybe i should change my name to Acoustic

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

Shogun is bigger then Anderson and he gets people down. Now he doesn't always look great doing it but he gets them down.
