Randy would win IMO. I dont think Machida would pose much of a problem for him. Randy would chase him down, put him against the cage, dirty box him up, maybe take him down a few times, probably win by UD.

Randy could beat him. NEVER count Randy out. He's been an underdog his whole career and managed to shock alot of people.

Randy would chase him, dirty box him, and possibly outwork him standing. Randy has the BEST gameplans the MMA world has come to known so he'd outwork him somehow, someway.

True, Randy has shocked the world, but he's also lost a ton. A lot of the apprehension towards him winning is justified, he's no where near one of the best ever.

And as far as game plans go, a lot of people put together amazing gameplans. his gameplans are really overrated in the sense, people act as if no one else comes close.

Very even matchup, it would all come down to Randy getting the TD. I dont think he would get enough of them and Machida would win an elusive decision. Machida has pretty good wrestling too which cant be overlooked.

Randy's striking is no where near as good as Machida's. Machida takes this fight, prob go the same way the Tito fight went.

It would all depend if Couture could clinch with Machida or not. I think Couture up close and on the ground would be very overwhelming for Machida. But on the flip side even though I don't think Couture would gas he would quite literally spend the entire time trying to chase Machida down. Machida is very slippery and he would probably get out of most clinch and TD attempts, but for Couture they are the same thing since he doesn't do single and double leg all that often.

I don't think so, but then again I think no LHW in the world could beat Machida.

So I ask, as I think the idea is pretty interesting, could Couture have been the guy to beat Machida?
I love his excuse on why he didn't beat Chuck a second and third time. We all have our problems, no need to put the blame on that.

I dunno about a fight with Randy Couture and Machida. It'd be a good one.. I could see Randy utilizing his dirty boxing because he is a bigger guy than Machida. How is Machidas clinch game anyways? It's obviously not on the level of Randys but is it adequate? Right now I'd lean a little bit toward Lyoto. It'd be close, though.
