After watching Saturday's reruns I was thinking that Chuck against Houston Alexander makes a lot of sense. Think about it, they both have 2 loses and one win in their last 3 fights so why not put them together to see which one is the best "one dimensional" of the two. I'm picking Chuck but Houston can surprise.

I can see him beating him too. I dont like chuck one bit but the guy needs to seriously think about quiting ahead. Go down as one of the greats instead of a guy that was great but lost 10 fights in a row. just saying. To me to be considered one of the best you cant lose 4 of five fights in a row. not saying he has but he could if he dont learn. same with hughes.

I don't think Chuck is one-dimensional, but his gameplans are. Even though his main meal ticket is his stand up, hes a fully capable wrestler and I think a purple belt in jiujitsu. Too bad he doesn't mix it up too much, it worked pretty well in the Silva fight.

So basicly your expecting Houston to overwhelm Chuck with his intense and aggressive striking? Yeah cause that worked well for Wanderlei who is a MUCH better striker who couldnt get in on Chuck. Chuck would keep his distance picking Houston apart with jabs and if the situation called for it Chuck would take Houston down jsut like he did Wandy.

One good shot is all it would take for Chuck to put Alexander away anyways his chin is EXTREMELY suspect at the moment anyways.

Chuck has yet to lose to ANYONE NEAR Houston Alexanders low low level of competition. Most people forget Chuck has only lost to very very solid competitors and he's not falling off the face of MMA yet.

Houston is actually tailor-made for Chuck to KO, as long as Chuck doesn't start walking him down like he did Rashad. Houston will come in hard brawling, and Chuck traditionally does well against aggressive brawlers. Just backpedal and let em walk right into his fist.

To be fair it happens to everyone eventually especially the older guys in the sport thats why these young fighters who arent great in any one aspect of the sport o so well because they are constantly changing things so they dont become predictable.

But I think we have seen enough of Houston to know he is to stubborn to learn any ground game and will continue with his wading into people swinging style. WHICH has allready been figured out.

dont get me wrong houston would have a punchers chance but this would be a joke of a fight and an absolute insult to the iceman.

That being said after some thought I REALLY dont want Chuck to fight at LHW anymore. Maybe fight Shogun and Franklin but thats it after that I want him to move to HW and test himself their or retire gracefully before he tarnishes his own name.:)

Exactly.....you know what i would love...it wont happen but...If he were to hook up with Randy and let Randy just give his whole skillset and gameplan a tune-up...

Randy is the man at finding peoples strength and weaknesses and exploiting both.........keep your fingers crossed dude....:thumb02:
