Chuck Liddell would be better off at HW

I truly believe that this would be the best move for Chuck and the UFC.

1. Chuck already walks around in the 230's I believe. He is already bigger than Randy, and would have a lot more energy since he wouldn't have to cut weight.

2. The guys at LHW are too fast. You seen it vs Rashad and Jardine. These guys are much younger and faster than Chuck. At HW, they will be at more of Chuck's speed.

3. He will have a better shot at getting a shot for the HW belt than the LHW belt. Chuck is not getting any younger, his time in this sport is coming to an end. Right now, he's buried under Rampage,Wanderlei,Rashad,Machida,Silva, Franklin and the winner of JArdine and Vera. That's a lot of people to be under. In the HW division, he would just have to wait for the tourney to be over, and be under Werdum basically.

4. Look at the people in the HW division- In this division, Werdum/Gonzaga/Mir/Nog and Lesnar all rely heavily on taking their opponent down. Can they get Chuck down?! It rarely happens. Chuck is a better striker then them all, and if the y can't get him down, the ball would be in Chuck's court.

5. It opens up many new doors. In the LHW division, we seen Chuck vs Rampage,Wanderlei,Jardine,Rashad. I would still be excited to see these fights again, but I wouldn't be overly excited. The only fight I would be itching to see is him vs Forrest, which by the looks of things is not going to happen. In the HW division you can have him vs Nog, Mir,Werdum, Gonzaga and the two huge fights in him vs Lesnar and maybe him vs Randy again?!
Chuck vs Lesnar would be the HUGEST draw in UFC history.

So what do you guys think, dumb or smart idea?

I agree with most of what you say, i just have a concern over Chucks ability to take a punch now. Its not because of the Evans KO, that would've KO'd most people. But he's been rocked in his previous 4 fights prior to that. If he were to move to heavywight, he'd have to fight alot smarter than he has been doing in the light heavyweight division.

I'd love to see Chuck fight at least 3 more fights, and retire on a high. I think any title aspirations he may have are a little out of his reach now though.

I have Chuck winning this one, unless Mir has vastly improved his cardio

I think Chucks key to success is to swallow his pride and start using his wrestling. He should still spend most of the fight striking but if he was more patient with his striking and utilized takedowns for points like he did against Wandy. He will win more fights like this. When he was dominant he used to sit back and counter punch now all he does is push the pace and get caught. He won the 1st round against Rashad but he got so frustrated by the fact that he didn knock him out and then he got caught. He doesn need a 1st round KO all the time.

Ive been saying this for awhile now Chuck would be a terror at Heavyweight really ot be honest.

Chuck wouldnt beat lesnar due to sheer size but not because of lack of skill.

Werdum would be an interesting fight that Chuck could indeed win. Kongo would be a problem because of size but Chuck could pull out the win their aswell. Kongos Chin has never been tested and has extremely suspect ground game.

Chuck would own Herring in every facet of the game. Herring is a decent striker with a sub level ground game.

Chuck stands a Chance of knocing Big Nog out mainyl because he has superior striking kicks and would easily keep the fight on the feet and avoid the ground at all costs. With the way Sylvia picked him apart I could see Chuck winning a long hard fought decision in this fight.

Gonzaga could definitly beat him though IMO Chuck could probably stuff some of his TD's and keep it standing but Gonaga just has so much power it might overwhelm Chuck.

These are the only tough fight for Chuck at this weight aswell because Hardonk and O'Brien aswell as Sanchez wouldn't last long at all with Chuck.

If he made his way through some o these guys (He wouldnt have to fight them all remember that) He could take the belt so long as Randy takes it over Lesnar and Nog.

Top 7 Favorite Fighters at the moment

1. Forrest Griffin
2. Clay Guida
3. Shane Carwin
4. Jon Fitch
5. Chuck Liddell
6. Wanderlei Silva
7. Chris Leben

Chuck shouldn't have any problem gaining (primarily) muscle. I'd love to see him tear up the HW division.

If Chuck was going to go up to HW, it would be for the title. I could see the UFC giving him a title shot he doesnt deserve. And if it was against Randy or Nog I think Chuck matches up pretty well with each guy and could get the win. However I would have him as a slight underdog in each fight.

This has to be a joke... Chuck Liddell is one of the best fighters in the world, there is no chance he loses to Mir, Kongo or Hearing. Gonzaga,Lesnar, Nog and Werdum would give him good fights.
