A bout between middleweight prospects C.B. Dollaway and Mike Massenzio for UFC 92 on December 27 in Las Vegas has been verbally agreed to by parties representing both fighters.

A source close to Massenzio’s Team Bomb Squad revealed the news to FiveOuncesOfPain.com over the weekend.

The source indicated that thus far, only verbal agreements pertaining to the matchup have been secured but that bout agreements could be finalized over the course of the next several days.

Both Massenzio and Dollaway are outstanding college wrestlers who once competed against each other on the Junior College level. Dollaway defeated Massenzio head-to-head during a tournament bout early in their college careers and Massenzio increased his training in hopes of winning a rematch the following year.

While Massenzio reached the finals of the tournament the next year, he was denied a shot at redemption after Dollaway had been eliminated prior to the final round. Since that time, Massenzio has searched for a chance to rematch Dollaway and it appears he may finally get that opportunity at UFC 92 in a bout contested under MMA rules.

Dollaway, a runner-up during the seventh season of the The Ultimate Fighter, is 7-1 overall in his professional MMA career and 1-1 while competing inside of the Octagon. After losing to Amir Sadollah in the TUF 7 finale this past June, Dollaway returned on short notice at UFC Fight Night 14 in July where he submitted fellow TUF 7 alum Jesse Taylor with a Peruvian necktie at 3:58 of round 1.

Massenzio is considered one of the greatest freestyle wrestlers to ever come out of the state of New Jersey and is 11-2 overall in his pro MMA career. He made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 15 last month, submitting Drew McFedries with a Kimura at 1:28 of round 1.

In addition to being former standout wrestlers in college, Dollaway and Massenzio both come from up-and-coming MMA camps. Dollaway trains under under Trevor and Todd Lally out of Arizona Combat Sports, which is also home to fighters such as TUF 8’s Ryan Bader and WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner. Massenzio is a part of Team Bombsquad, currently one of the top camps on the East Coast with over 40 fighters training under Ryan Ciotoli, inclduing UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones and the WEC’s John Franchi.
I'll take Massenzio via submission.

I like CB. I think he's a good talented young fighter. He's going to get beat here.

Mike is a tough Jersey fighter who can beat a lot of good guys.

I'm just wondering how will TUF 7 look when the winner and the runner up get beat by 2 young kids from Jersey in back to back event.

They restore(Well haven't lost it yet) a bit of validity seeing as Jesse Taylor just beat Drew Fickett, which is a solid win which I never would of imagined. Drew is kinda messed up though :(
