Filho in UFC?

so i guess since the middleweight division of the WEC is debunked, some of the guys from that division will be merging into the UFC. I cant wait to see guys like paulo filho and chael sonnen in the UFC. how do you think those guys will fare against the top 185 guys in the UFC? (guys like Silva, Cote, Marqardt, Maia, Henderson, etc.)

He would be one of the contenders. He is good friends with Silva and wouldn't fight him but IMO it wouldn't matter as Silva would remain champion.

Hendo Vs Filho would be a good match.

I just watched filho vs chael on WEC.Filho is overrated.Chael made him look like shit standing and on the ground until chael got caught in the armbar.I dont think filho is even a top 5 middleweight based on that fight. The guys in the ufc would whup his ass.

thats what made me think about that. i watched the filho sonnen fight on wec from 07 last night. chael has some great standup and not a bad ground game. i think he will beat filho in the rematch next month. but then i guess its UFC or some other lower tier org. for these guys, huh?

Have you watched any other Filho fights, or just based your opinion on that one fight?

Filho was going through SERIOUS mental issues before/during/after that fight which effected his training. Obviously it's not good to fight when you're not in a good state of mind either, and he was in a VERY bad state of mind. It's incredible that he pulled off the win.

If you haven't, I suggest you go watch some of his Pride fights. If you have, then fair enough - that's your opinion.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

I completely agree with this statement not only was his not mind not in it he was also having substance abuse problems. He did look horrible in that fight but watch his pride fights

I admit I havent seen his pride fights, but Im judging him on his last performance.Using your logic, I can say cro cop still owns.Filho would be a gatekeeper in the ufc, but I can list a ton of ufc middleweights that would handily beat him

You can't base your opinion on his last fight without factoring in all of the other variables that led to his poor performance. You have to realize he had a substance abuse problem and was having some mental problems as well. Filho is much better then what he showed against Sonnen and if you watched more then one of his fights you would realize that.

Not at all, because Cro Cop didn't have those problems. It is well documented that Filho had these problems.

He would definitely be more than a gatekeeper in the UFC(IMO). Please watch his PRIDE fights, then maybe you'll change your mind. Or maybe you won't need to.. How Filho does in the rematch, will explain alot as to where he is at right now.
