How could Babalu do at 185 in the UFC?
Babalu is cutting to 195 for his next fight and planning on moving down to MW.
Now if he was to return to the UFC how do you think he would do at 185 because honestly I think he might be one of the top 5 MW's in the world.
The guy is a very good wrestler, and world class grappler and his stand up is solid.
W/o Chuck Liddell around Babalu should do fine against almost anyone.
I mean Babalu vs Anderson is even interesting because Babalu could probably get him down and on the ground Babalu has the advantage.

if franklin returns to middleweight after Anderson Silva retires I don't know if he could hang.
I'll have to wait and see his performance after the cut to say for sure tho.

babalu's striking is sloppy and his cardio is not very good...he's a solid B level fighter in whatever division he fights in

people said that he should take down chuck because "he would have an advantage on the ground"... we all know how that worked out both times. i'm not feeling he would have much of a chance against anderson because imo silva's standup is much more devastaing than chuck! in fact he would have a VERY good chance against sobral on the ground as well!

If Babalu performs as well as he did against Mike Whitehead then I think he'd be a force to be reckoned with at MW. He's a great grappler and wrestler like you stated, and his boxing has gotten so much better in his last few fights. I'd love for Babalu to be brought back.

It depends on how the MW is when he arrives.
If we have Silva, Franklin and Hendo still at MW, well, he could try to get to top 5, but it would be hard, I think those 3 plus Filho and Marquardt are better than him. If Silva retires and the other two guys stay at 205, then he could get a title shot and even be champion.

maybe beat hendo at MW but I wouldn't give him better than a 1/8 chance against Franklin.

Did you see his fight with Whitehead.
His striking looked much improved in that fight.

Lideel has very good takedown defense, Silva, not so much.

I really think Yushin Okami would beat Babalu.
