Are you reading from a script of some sort? It seems a bit acted out in the way you are speaking.. Just me personally, I prefer these things just spoken freely from your mind.
If i'm wrong, fair enough - that's just how it came across to me.
Good stuff for a first go though. You can only improve.. Just like your podcast has, SIGNIFICANTLY.
Good job man. I like alot of your reasoning for your picks and it is clear you know what your talking about. I think once you get more comfortable in front of the camera you will get better and better.
Ive picked Bisping in this fight since the begining but I am starting to think exactly what your thinking. I might be a little to stubburn to change my mind tho lol
Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to deal with the nerves. I'll be alright though, I'm sure.
Well, we'll see how the fight goes. The Chris Leben I've been hearing about in training, though, is on a new level, totally above what we've seen before.
I realize that you're a fan from the U.K., so you may be a little biased on the issue, but the notion that Bisping is a substantial middlweight is just completely beyond me (and, in fairness, it's not just U.K. fans that think that).
Bisping doesn't work his strikes into open spaces (one of the details that, in my opinion, separates good strikers from great strikers), he doesn't have a well developed submission game, his guard passing is not particularly impressive, his wrestling is not of a particularly high caliber and so on.
I'm not saying that Bisping is trash and I don't hate the guy, I just don't think that he's developed to the point where he needs to be to compete at the top of this very competitive division (which is going to get a lot more competitive once Filho enters it).
I have no idea what to expect in the Vera Jardine fight. I don't think either have fought someone quite like the other person. It'll be really interesting. I'm hoping Vera will win, not that I particularly like him ... I think he has shown poor class in some of his fights, but I think he has more promise as a fighter, and ultimately that's why I'm watching UFC.
This was the hardest fight for me to pick, and the real reason why I had a hard time picking the winner is because I don't know how Vera is going to handle Keith's weird style. I'm counting on Brandon having a lot of issues with that stance.
I'm surprised that you did this on the fly, mainly because it looks like you're reading off the screen at some points lol, and because there's so much cutting. I assume you prepared what you said to an extent before beginning to film.. ie: multiple takes until you were happy with them, just based on how many cuts there are.
Anyway, I agree with your picks except for your claim that Paul Taylor has "mediocre technical skills". Maybe on the ground and with regard to wrestling, but his stand-up is crisp and arguably some of the best in the WW division.
If Lytle stands with him, he's going to lose. If Lytle takes the fight to the ground, he'll win, because Taylor's ground game is abysmal.
Good video though, it takes a while to get over the camera being in your face, but your video blogs seem promising.
EDIT: I also wouldn't say Fedor really throws "looping" punches either. He throws his hooks like straight punches, but flicks his elbow and snaps his hips once the punch is extended, unlike most fighters who throw their entire body into the hook. This causes his hands to go around the gloves easier, but someone like Leben throws wide punches that you can see coming.. I think that's an important difference to note, on the technical level.

The cutting is an artistic liberty (not that I'm much of an artist).
The first guy I saw do it was Jay Smooth of illdoctrine.com, though others do it.

I mostly just stopped it when I felt like I had completed a phrase and moved the computer angle.

Damn that's a long time ago. I totally forgot that fight.
That's what I get for trying to do stats off of the top of my head.
