Say what you want about an exciting loss getting you further, but I am pretty sure he would have been told to go get a win elsewhere if he had lost to Andy. Rarely does Dana let a three loss streak slide. And he's still in the UFC so I guess the cautious performance didn't hurt him too much.
Andy's most impressive win is against what? Krzysztof Soszynski? Give me a break. Vera was fighting a 3rd tier fighter and barely won.

he's moving on because he won and he's still got fights left on his contract. don't think for a second that another boring "play it safe" fight won't land him unemployed.

I know Vera rubs a lot of people the wrong way but I am solidly on the Vera bandwagon. I think he is a great fighter and I hope he gets the W against Jardine.

Yeah, that was probably his best win. Other than a flash KO against Frank Mir (who has awful standup), Vera has no wins better than Andy anyway. Assuerio Silva would be a good win if it had been earlier in Silva's career when he didn't totally suck, I suppose.

Doesn't change the fact that Andy IS a dangerous opponent. I can only assume you didn't watch IFL much if you think otherwise.

Dana is under no obligation to allow a fighter to fight again right away. He 's not above telling fighters with fights left on their contracts to get a win somewhere else.

Now this is why I sometimes can't understand you guys. Vera KO'd JUSTIN EILERS and you doubt his awesome powers?

Man, If I were you I'd take that back really fast before Brandon finds out and sends a long range high kick over the internet that demolishes this forum.

I dont think Vera can have any excuse this time.

But it goes to show how someone as arrogant as Vera can be slaughtered for a lackluster performance, whereas Dan Henderson found himself in a similar situation against Palhares, but people kinda let it go.

Granted, Hendo's fight wasnt AS dull as Vera's, but it was a pretty uninteresting bout, and Hendo definately played it safe in that match up. UFC is big money, and to lose 3 consecutive fight tends to mean a stop gap in a fighters UFC career. And i can understand why Vera wanted to play it safe and play for the UD. But i do wish he had the balls to admit to it. Maybe the weight cut did affect him so much, i'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but as i said, if he looks unimpressive on saturday, he really cant have any excuse this time around

Jardine's chin isn't the strongest, so if Vera comes into this fight with the intention to KO Jardine, I think he will.

I'll go out on a limb and say Vera wins by KO via knees.

Ps: no pun intended

I think I'll call it the Tim Sylvia rule, if a fighter loses to Tim he ends up sucking for his next few fights. Happened to Andrei Arlovski, happened to Vera as well. We'll see if Vera keeps sucking or if he gets back to having decent fights.

Ive been around for Brandons last 4 camps. I can honestly say this has been one of his better ones. He looks sharp. The motto for this fight camp was "Not now Im training". Weight wasnt an issue at all. He ended up weighing in at 203. Obviously Im bias. But I have to say looking at this fight objectively, I think that Brandon is a bad match up for Keith. Brandons striking is better. And he strikes from far away. Keiths dangerous inside. Not to mention Brandon could take the fight to the ground whenever he wanted to and own Keith.
