I don't think that he's an idiot at all.

I thinkn that BJ Penn has the potential to be one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, but he won't do anything to get there. I know that he has trained to get where he is, but he won't take it to the next level. He is one of the best BJJ artists in the world and has hands that can knock out guys MUCH bigger than him. He can defend the shoot like a gold metal wrestler and can get back up like no one else when he is taken down.

Most of his wins are two rounds or less. If it gets past that he's suspect to say the least. Look at his record.

You kidding? He burned himself up when he thought he had Hughes in the armbar/choke. In fact I'll state he could have finished him there with some more strength and cardio.

I don't care what the judges said, Penn beat GSP in that fight. GSP's face looked like hamburger after the fight. GSP's a great fighter, don't get me wrong, but Penn, gasing or not, punished GSP.

That is one of the finer points of a ten point must system. You can't win the whole fight in one round without finishing it.

And the two shots that made him look that way were an eye poke and an uppercut that clipped the tip of the nose. I have watched that fight ten times and I still have it on DVR at home. GSP won that fight with the last two rounds with out a doubt.

When Penn is on he is one of the most incredible fighters out there ever. Hughes is great. I give total respect for hughes he finished him off in perfect hughes fashion, whether penn was injured or not. But (and you can call me crazy), I think Penn beat george pierre. I would have rather been Penn having cocktails afer the fight then be in my hospital bed like george st.pierre.

Yadda yadda yadda, that's what I see in most of the people, "if BJ did this, if BJ wasn't that." Yeah, what if Matt Hughes was hit by a truck before the fight?

Excuses are just bridges to nowhere, injuries are part of fighting, in my opinion, you watch that fight and you see a fatigued man in BJ Penn.

He was winning rounds 1 and 2, definitely, but in a 5 round fight, you gotta be prepared for every round.
