BJ to me, is like a sprinter, Incredibly powerfull in quick short races (2 rounds or less) but can't go the distance. Hughes is like a long distance runner, He can sprint if he needs to, but he can run the full marathon too.
You don't see many BJ fights going much past the second round.
Squeetard has some very valid points, I just think you guys are to close minded to understand his point of view and sarcastic sense of humor.

thats not true f-dog. gsp beat penn fair and square, penn won the first round but then his horrible conditioning came back to bite him in the ass and he lost the second and third rounds.

Excuses are just bridges to nowhere, injuries are part of fighting, in my opinion, you watch that fight and you see a fatigued man in BJ Penn.
He was winning rounds 1 and 2, definitely, but in a 5 round fight, you gotta be prepared for every round.

very good point kyle. people keep on saying that bj penn would have won if he hadnt broke his ribs. what they dont realize is that it is the same thing as saying" our team would have won if they hadnt scored more touchdowns than us". this was an mma fight and you have to try to win the fight by any means possible, and when bj broke his ribs think of that as a touchdown for hughes. ye bj would have won............if hughes didnt score more touchdowns than him

Hughes definitely deserves some credit in that second BJ fight. He weathered a vicious storm, and capitalized. BJ got injured, but he still lost the fight, guys. Hughes finished someone who hasn't been finished before. I think Hughes should get atleast some credit.

BJ Penn
The "Retard" fellow who started this thread. He's obviously a Matt Hughes fan posing as one of Penn's. The whole world including Hughes knows Penn didn't gas out, a part of his body separated from itself.
I saw the Penn / St. Pierre fight last night, Penn won that fight. Both Hughes and St. Pierre were lucky.

All of you keep blowing BJ for fighting when he was hurt and defending his loss. Then you are saying that he beat GSP.
Here's a little fact GSP WAS HURT TOO. He had a broken nose and kept getting punched in the face and still kept fighting. AND HE DIDN'T LOSE!!!
So stop talking about what a hero Penn is for fighting hurt. I've had broken ribs and a broken nose. Both Suck. The ribs do make it very hard to move and breath. The nose makes it very hard to see and breath. PLUS getting hit there after it broken is more painful than most of you could deal with.
Just stop with the BJ was hurt defense. The point of a fight is to hurt the other guy. Period.

BJ Penn
Hughes did not break Penn's ribs. I don't have the link, but a while back someone posted it, it explained how the injury occurred.
The person who started this thread has no clue what he's talking about.

Re:
I'm not saying Penn was a hero for fighting hurt, I'm saying he's not some chump or a gasser like the thread creator implies.
Hughes will lose to Penn in match III.

True... if anyone can point out where in that match Hughes broke Penns ribs I'd love to know cause Hughes didnt break Penns ribs. Anyways Penn lost and shit happens. He is not a waste of talent, Hughes, GSP and Penn are all 3 of the best welterweights in the world.

ill agree witht he thread started.
BJ is also a hero of mine, an amazing fighter/athalete but he lacks the drive, or at least MOSTLY.
I say thig because all the pre fight interviews before the hughes fight make me beleive he wanted it bad, and that he didnt fact have cardio this time, he said in a post fight interview that he didnt everything right, trained massive cardio and it all ended due to injury he was pissed.
I think 90% of the time BJ does not care enough for the cardio, however i do belive he was ready for hughes this time but instead an injury prevented him from winning.
