if sherk actually implements a good gameplan he should win....tyson's tdd isn't amazing and sherk's shot is excellent

sherk has good striking but his ground game is what is his roots and how he has been so successful

No question this card is stacked. However this fight is crucial as it will determine the #1 or #2 contender in the LW division, which btw is the most competitive division in the UFC (imo).

The LW fight Clementi vs. Maynard will lead the winner nowhere and yet it's fight #3 on the card when Sherk vs. Griffin is only fight #5...

What an odd choice from the UFC.

I disagree to some extent. I think this put either fighter in the #1 contender spot if Kenflo were to win against Stevenson. Sherk destroyed Kenny and Sherk wins he is already ahead of Kenny and if Tyson wins it puts him ahead of Kenny. The Tyson vs Stevenson fight won't happen unless it is forced by UFC because they are good friends and training partners. They have both said they won't do that fight.
In regard to there positioning on the card I find it weird that Clementi vs. Maynard wasn't even on the main card too long ago and all of a sudden not only is it on the main card they put it in front of other fights on the main card?? Baffling. I think they should promote Tyson better but how could they not promote Sherk, he was the champ at 155 just 1 fight ago. They both deserve better, but especially Sherk who has proven himself in the UFC (not that Tyson hasn't).

you'd be right if it weren't for timing.

Unless they want a 6+ month layoff waiting for BJ to come back down to the division.

The UFC never hypes any of the fights besides the main and event and sometimes the co-main event which is pretty stupid but any real fan knows this fight is going down, and how big the implications are. This whole card is like that, very deep and almost guaranteed excitement its just not getting that much hype.

You're forgetting that Clementi has 4 wins in a row, over quality competition, and Maynard just beat Edgar, who is the only person to have beaten Griffin. So technically that fight could/should be ahead of Griffin/Sherk.

I dont think the UFC wants Sherk to be back in title contention just yet, Sherk/BJ 2 needs more time to develope, at this point the outcome would be the same as the first.

Top 5 fav. fighters (in order)

1. GSP
2. Franklin

UFC 90 is making UFC 89 look like an Ultimate Fighter finale.

But I'll have to go with the others who picked Sherk by UD. Griffin is awesome in his own right, but I see Sherk coming into this a bit bigger and with a bit more hustle. Neither one is going to knock the other one out, neither one will try any submissions, so essentially we're looking at a jabbing/wrestling match.

Agree but let's not forget Sherk's status in the LW division and Griffin's last 4 fights, all wins over: Guida, Tavares, Tibau and Aurelio.

Good call, two very good matchups for sure. Repped

I think it may be going down as it is, due to the possibility that the Maynard/Clementi fight is gonna end up being more exciting than Sherk/Griffin. I may end up being wrong, but thats the way I see it.
