Sherk vs. Griffin @ UFC 90: why so little promotion for this fight?

Anyone else thinks this bout don't get the amount of attention it deserves?
We're dealing with 2 top lightweight contenders here, why the UFC doesn't promote this fight at all?
I'm also amazed to see it's only fight #5 on the main card when it could easily be fight #3 or 2.

Am I the only one to find the treatment of this fight odd?

yeh it hasn't got much hype at all....despite it having huge implications for the LW division....Tyson has beaten ALOT of LW's and Sherk is an elite level LW. It's a great fight and adds alot of depth to the UFC 90 card, but it hasn't gotten much hype at all...

personally i'm psych'd for this fight...it's a dream fight

You know, I was thinking the same thing. This is a HUGE fight and could determine the #1 contender. I have no idea why they arent amping the ads on this fight.

I actually blame this on BJ, kind of the same thing at 170 due to GSP and at 185 due to AS. All 3 divisions have champions that seem unbeatable. So as far as the casual fan (which is who most advertising is aimed at) it really doesn't matter. Personally I think it could be huge, Sherk getting another shot at BJ would be a great thing for the UFC as the last fight had a awesome draw for a card headlined by LW.

This fight should be a war!! I dont understand why its not getting promoted like it should. Sherk is a former champ and Griffin is a future star.

Ive gone back and forth picking this fight and Im still a little unsure who to pick. Im leaning towards Griffin by split decision. I think he has slightly better striking and will be able to keep this fight standing for most of the fight.

this card is just that stacked

it's determining the number one contender for a division that won't see a title deffence for a minimum of 8 months by BJ's fight clock.

It's hard to hype a fight that leads both fighters no where.

EDIT: not to mention the fact that they have to beat the winner of kenflo/stevenson to really be the number one contender.
