Hey, the HW division at the time was SHALLOW AS HELL haha.
I'm just saying that Big Nog's got so much more time in the game than Lesnar, so it's not a comparable situation. Don't dismiss Pride. Look what the Pride LHWs are doing (Rampy - became champ, Wandy just KOed Jardine).

of course its comparable...both men were in the UFC...both men got early title shots....their previous records and accomplishments should mean NOTHING when determining whether they are worthy of a UFC HW title shot

Like every else has said so far, they want Randy to win. I do as well, but not because I dislike Lesnar. There's nothing wrong with the guy in my book, he's just extremely competitive. A little arrogant, but deep down, who isn't? The reason I want Randy to win, is because I'd be highly dissapointed if the UFC's heavyweight division has no answer to someone who is simply very athletic and strong. If that beats out someone with everything Randy can bring to the table, I'll start to question structured martial arts.

First of all, Lesnar walked away from 45 MILLION dollars for a 7 year deal with the WWE WTF? Only other comparison I can think of is Dave Chappelle walking away from all that cash. SO right there he has my respect. Second, I feel Lesnar will not only beat Randy but he will put a whopping on him like Chuck did. Bottom line is that Brock Lesnar is hungry and you can just tell that he really really wants this.

My predicition. Lesnar by 2nd round knock out

Wait was that 45 million counting possible royalties? Or did he get more money from t-shirts, toys, video games, etc, etc. I thought those guys gut a cut from that and I had no idea he was making that much.

Just to clarify, Brock Lesnar was the Junior College Heavyweight Champion and the NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion, so his wrestling credentials are top notch, at least on a par with Randy's, who was a multi year All American, although he did not win a national championship.

And please, let's get past the 'hinting around at steroids' dance. I am 100% certain both Brock and Couture have used steroids.

Edit: Dario, yes, he left a lot of money on the table, but you can't put a price on your own health. So many professional wrestlers have died at such a young age, I would have a hard time criticizing or second guessing Lesnar's decision.

Pretty good piece, the crack about Randy being stronger was pretty funny too.

Interviewer talking about Randy "He also says he's stronger than he was 10 years ago"

Lesnar "My ass he is, I'm 31 and I'm not as strong as I was ten years ago. That's a straight up lie."

Well, he's sure as shit not afraid to speak his mind. I don't think the steroids question is unfair in and of itself, but I'm sure he's sick of hearing and reading about it. The guy has never failed a piss test and you can bet your ass he had to take one to get licensed to fight. I think if he ever did do steroids (a distinct possibility) he's no doubt clean since he left the WWF. I can't wait for this fight, I have total confidence in Lesnar going 15 minutes with no trouble at all, but 25 I'm a little iffy about.

Whaaaat? You have got to be kidding. Why does the previous record mean nothing? It shouldn't mean everything but it certainly counts for something. Nobody gave Nog flak because it was clear he deserved a title shot. Lesnar, just as clearly, doesn't.

He was about 2 seconds from getting KTFO by Herring, in fact I don't think there would have been much much controversy if that fight had been stopped in the first round.

I'm not implying that Nog wasn't ready for a title shot, but all of these double standards because people "Respect" one guy more than the other is getting old. It's the same crap with Bisping and Rashaad.

Yes I agree, that Lesnar shouldn't have been in this 4man tourney, but stop blaming him for that, he doesn't pick the fights. He actually has a great chance to beat Randy, which is probably scaring people.

I like Brock and he will be champ. The UFC needs a good "heel" like Lesnar.
