No, you don't got me at all. It's not pride in heritage that bothers me. It's the constant ramming it down our throats, their cause & how they're a victimised society. I actually like the Irish.

I was referring to the 'hun' term.

No problem mate. Ireland were officially neutral but still allowed the subs to refuel, & the government was on friendly terms with the nazi's. It was only the hun term I was getting at. It's a term used by Glasgow Celtic fans for protestants. They claim it's for Rangers fans but they call, Hearts, Motherwell & Kilmarnock fans this too. Little do most realise, they were called this up until the 70's.

Sorry for the spiel. Good club btw.

UFC plays up these identities. It sells the fighters.

Besides...I'm from Maine as well and my grandmother was 1/2 Irish, her Mom straight from Ireland itself. Some of us really are pretty close to our heritage.

There is no clear evidence on any. It goes from his father is Irish, to his Great Granparents, to not being Irish at all but of Scottish/Welsh decent. Either way, the guys not Irish.

Please, don't kid yourself. You're American, simple. You have Irish roots somewhere down the line. I mean ffs, you're talking about 1/8th of your blood being Irish. Think about what your saying man. I'm Irish/Nordic/German/Scottish (AFAIK) if I was to think like that. Should I just pick one I like? Jeez.

To clarify my views on this; I feel you can only claim a nation as somewhere you come from if you were either born there, or have lived there for many, many years.

I think alot of you (especially the ones that live in the UK) really misunderstand the whole irish pride thing.See, here in america, theres lots of different people of different ethnicities. We got mexicans going around wearing mexican flag stuff, brown pride, that kind of stuff. We got blacks going around doing the same thing.I dont see how its such a big deal that davis wants to feel like he belongs to something.Thats really what it is, he just wants to fit in with people that are similar to him.

Never said I wasn't. Don't be a dillweed because you don't care about your heritage. Some people do. And the only "americans" are the Native Americans, fall in that category do yah'?

its all to do with heart people. If he has irish descendants he has irish blood in his veins.I was raised in an Irish family. Pretty simple. Some people dont take their heritage that seriously, in fact most dont, me included.

If you have ever been to Boston, you would realise that its more Irish than Ireland itself!
