Marcus Davis talks about his recent win over Paul Kelly and his future plans.

On his win over Paul Kelly...

"The plan was to use my reach, my boxing, my technique and my angles to make him think that he could reach me or hit me and counter him. I used my kicks to frustrate him and even if he was going to shoot, he would be shooting from further away from me than he’s comfortable at doing. I just controlled the range."

"My ground game was non-existent a few years ago and now I have people tell me I’m a black belt when I’m on top because my mount and control is so good. When I’m on my back, I’m getting better and better and I think I’m good, but I’m still working on that. I’ve been told that I’m a purple belt on my back."

"After the 1st round, I don’t believe I even broke a sweat actually. We were talking about that. I never felt tired or anything."

"I didn’t carry around as much muscle as I have in the past. The more muscle you have, the more oxygen your body uses. I’m probably not as powerful as I was before, but I can move faster and get there and throw more punches. The punching power is still there."

On his future plans...

"By the time Ireland rolls around, it will be 100% and I’ll be ready to rock and roll."

"They said I had to get the win in London and they would give me the opportunity to fight in Ireland, so that gave me extra incentive to train hard and get that win. I told them before I fought Paul Kelly that I wanted to be on that Ireland card so bad, I would fight Brock Lesnar. I told them I had to be on that card; I didn’t care who it was against, I have to fight in Ireland. Fighting in Ireland was all of the incentive I needed to perform the way I did and not get caught and also not get hurt."

So, yeah, you were about as wrong as it was possible to be?

We were neutral. Because of that fact, that was the correct action to be taken in terms of foreign policty. The popular one? No, but the consistent and correct one. What do you think we did when Roosevelt died? I guess we were "in cahoots" with the Americans too.

Go educate yourself, stop displaying your damn ignorance and insulting a country you clearly know nothing about, you tool.

My mums aunt used to live in the republic of ireland, during the blitz on Belfast a german bomber crashed not far from her house. her neighbour sheltered 2 of the bombers crew then helped them get back to germany.

Lots of people in the republic of ireland were sympathetic towards the nazis mainly due to their bitterness towards Britain, while on the other hand plenty of people did actually fight for the allies during the war.. *shrugs* you cant stereotype a whole country i guess.

Why exactly? If this was a thread about Randy Couture and some guy came in and started insulting America and making up bullshit about what your government did in the 2nd world war, you wouldn't have a problem with people defending it, you'd be right there arguing with them.

a lot of people from other countries don't seem to understand that here a lot of Irish people after moving to America moved into all Irish ghettos. married other Irish immigrants and their kids played together. some of them ARE actually more Irish than folks living in Ireland. My mom's side is all Irish. My dad's side is all German. While I am all American my mom despite being 3rd generation still had an Irish accent and many other Irish mannerisms because that's what she grew up in and was all she knew.

I'm with you TheNegation I just don't know enough about Ireland to help you out here. I do know that this seems like propaganda and conspiracy theory BS.

i always thought it was a shame that the Republic of Ireland didnt take part in the black out like Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK did.. If they had then the german bombers wouldnt have been able to follow the lights up the coast to easily get to Northern Ireland and bomb it.

anyway, getting back on track.. plastic paddys annoy me a little tbh, especially when the person claiming to be irish knows next to nothing about Ireland.

That wouldn't really have been in keeping with neutrality now would it?
