Marcus Davis: "Ireland...Iíll be ready to rock and roll."

Marcus Davis talks about his recent win over Paul Kelly and his future plans.

Quote:
On his win over Paul Kelly...

"The plan was to use my reach, my boxing, my technique and my angles to make him think that he could reach me or hit me and counter him. I used my kicks to frustrate him and even if he was going to shoot, he would be shooting from further away from me than heís comfortable at doing. I just controlled the range."

"My ground game was non-existent a few years ago and now I have people tell me Iím a black belt when Iím on top because my mount and control is so good. When Iím on my back, Iím getting better and better and I think Iím good, but Iím still working on that. Iíve been told that Iím a purple belt on my back."

"After the 1st round, I donít believe I even broke a sweat actually. We were talking about that. I never felt tired or anything."

"I didnít carry around as much muscle as I have in the past. The more muscle you have, the more oxygen your body uses. Iím probably not as powerful as I was before, but I can move faster and get there and throw more punches. The punching power is still there."

On his future plans...

"By the time Ireland rolls around, it will be 100% and Iíll be ready to rock and roll."

"They said I had to get the win in London and they would give me the opportunity to fight in Ireland, so that gave me extra incentive to train hard and get that win. I told them before I fought Paul Kelly that I wanted to be on that Ireland card so bad, I would fight Brock Lesnar. I told them I had to be on that card; I didnít care who it was against, I have to fight in Ireland. Fighting in Ireland was all of the incentive I needed to perform the way I did and not get caught and also not get hurt."

A plastic paddy is someone who clings onto some distant link with Ireland, coming across more Irish than the Irish themselves.

Oh & on a side note; 'Hun' is a British term for 'enemy' coined in the WW's. Obviously making the Germans the enemy. Ireland allowed German U-Boats to refuel during WW2 & was in cahoots with Hitlers underlings. If you know your history right enough, eh.....

A lot of Irish people volunteered to fight for the allies too. But yeah, fake Irish Americans can suck a fat one.

actually i hate history. i never knew we were in cahoots with nazi's i'll look that up. and i never heard of the phrase hun being use until i met a group of scotsmen in the sub-club in Glasgow. and now that i understand plastic paddies as to be honest most irish dont really like them either, i retract any intention to offend i had in my earlier post.
