ummm...i would say that knee really wobbled cote in the first round.....it looked like a really big impact, but cote was only rocked for maybe 1/2 a second

his recuperative ability was pretty amazing

Oh it looked like it hurt but it didnt seem to effect him, I didnt mean he never got hit hard but I didnt think Cote looked like he was in any threat of being finished.

i'd agree w/ that....

sadly for you toxic, i don't see the ufc giving cote a rematch...as that fight wouldn't be that marketable

btw: we rocked that Dos Santos pick eh?

I really see no need for a rematch here, especially with only 5 fights left for Anderson. I unno wat was with Anderson's strategy but still at no point did it look like Cote had a solution for the Spider and although he didnt get the KO im sure he wanted, he's prob already forgotten about Cote and is moving on to his next fight.

eh two different pairs of eyes can see two seperate things. Although I am a little dissapointed in Silva, I still feel like he proved he was superior to Cote, at the end Patrick just wanted to brag that he made it to the third round for crying out loud. Other fighters put up more of a fight in two rounds than Cote did in three, but thats mainly Silva's fault for being so "elusive" and focusing more on dancing around than actually trying to fight for the victory.

OH yeah,Aaronyman I changed my UFC fantasy pick form Werdum to Santos and jumped way up in the ranking following that fight, not many people saw that one coming.


I dont think it will matter if the UFC wants to make the rematch or not, Anderson has 5 fights left and at the pace he fights I dont see Cote being ready for a rematch soon enough, I mean possibly surgury, rehab then getting back in shape, gettign training again, a warm fight, the timelines dont work.

Completely off of his game? I wouldn't go that far. Though Cote definitely did the right thing, which was a setback for Silva's gameplan, Anderson was still picking him apart.

I don't think Cote ever looked like he was in any danger. That being said, at first glance, I thought that Silva might've been hurt. However, I rewatched several times, and now I realize that it wasn't the case. Patrick packs some SERIOUS power and when he staggered Anderson, it wasn't due to the fact that he had rocked him... It was because Cote's punch physically moved him. Notice how Anderson regained his footing instantaneously and fired back.

Also, the second time that Anderson stumbled, it wasn't even in reaction to a hit. He was moving his feet when he saw a left hand coming his way and he ducked his head, regardless of his unstable footing. As such, he off balance, but still managed to dodge the blow.

Overall, Anderson was outscoring his opponent big time. Of the few shots that Cote really landed (aside from the leg-kicks), most weren't clean. The couple of bombs that he did score were simply shrugged off. And while Patrick was unphased as well, he still took a LOT more punishment than the champ.

As for rematch, I agree that it won't happen if Silva retires. There won't be enough time for Cote to recover.
