Also why do you think Cote refused it? Or why should he have accepted it? Was he right or was it disrespectful from him?

How do you explain/understand what happened in this precise moment?
I just think Anderson wanted it standing and was just offering to help him up. He probably didn't mean anything by it. Cote was smart though, unless the ref stands you up or stops the fight you should always protect yourself. If he had taken his hand and Silva knocked him out on the way up then Cote would have lost for being stupid. Silva was being nice and Cote was being smart

thats why i was so bummed when cote blew his knee out. the gamesmanship going on between the two of them was awesome. they were going back and forth with each other the whole fight. silva extended his hand to cote, cote mimicing spiders movements(like his quick shuffle thing). but with all that they were both still very competitive.

I think Anderson is just a good dude, he was tryin to help him up to show that he respects him. But also I can see why Cote didn't accept the gesture. Remember that Bond movie where the guy bows and Bond kicks him in the face? lol you can never be sure.

Cote did the right thing, hes in a title fight - nothing is worth the risk. No doubt Silva would have helped him up, but Cote was spot on.

I don't think there was any disrespect. I think both fighters were having a good time in that fight

I wouldn't say Silva was being disrespectful; but it was unusual.

Cote probably didn't know what to think.

I think Silva just offered him up because of like this special bonding stand-up fighters have.

That being said, I could see why Cote didn't accept. No harm done, no reason to look into it.

You're just a cook...
