Does this casual fan comment irk you?

Okay, so I'm watching tonight's show w/ a bunch of buddies. For the most part, I was with a 4 or 5 casual fans that have seen several UFC events before, but don't do research on stuff like I do and all of that.....Anyways, the last few events my buddy keeps saying something that just irks me....

"I just want to see someone get KTFO...if I see that then I'm happy."

anyone else get annoyed by that? the sport is so beautiful, complicated and intricate...and all you wanna see is a KO..? and this is from a guy who watches TUF, seen every event for the last year or so....

seriously, i could care less about seeing a crazy KO, as long as I see some great skills displayed and some good action, i'm more than satisfied...

your thoughts?

Meh, yeah its annoying, but what are you gonna do?

You should probably introduce them to this place or give them ALL your DVD's so they can appreciate the sport like you and I, other wise, they will always be just a casual fan, who sees MMA as a bloodsport rather than a legite combat sport.

Honestly, no. People watch the sport for a million different reasons. Some watch guys like the Diaz Bros to see a cool submission. Others revel in a nasty Cro Cop head kick (or Gonzaga for that matter.) The fact of the matter is your buddy is watching MMA and still enjoying it. It's possible he likes other parts of the game but just wants to see at least someone go to sleep before the nights done.

Personally, I like it when the casual fans call the fighters "pussies" and whatnot.

Not really. Because honestly, I do to. It's entertaining to see a KO via flying knee early in a round or whatever, but it's thrill fades quickly. But a great jitz match is just as good too.

- It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

See you Space Cowboy...

It doesnt bother me if its somebody who doesnt understand it but I really disagree, I enjoyed Sherk/Griffen despite knowing before the fight started it was going the distance, Tyson Griffen doesnt finish fights but he is extremely entertaining, Id rather see an entertaining fight like Griffen/Sherk than a flash Ko like Irvin/Silva.

Oh, then thats kind of like those people who get pissed at guys like Machida and Bisping because they're elusive and don't get hit.

It annoys me when people act like they know it all when they hardly follow the sport. Like the ass hats that throw on their tapout gear and act like avid followers, then get the weight classes wrong and such. Or when they give illogical fighter break downs that make no sense at all. It's like dude, if you don't know what you're talking about...please just be quiet and quit making rediculous statements about something you hardly know anything about.
