I know Yushin Okami is next in line if he beats Dean Lister but that fight is not until late December. It would also be a few months until Okami can fight again (assuming he wins) after that so why not have Silva fight Leites in the meantime?

Now I don't think he will get one but does anyone think he has earned it?
Leites hasn't earned a shot yet. I'd like to see him fight a better guy first, like the way Cote fought Almeida.

how was almeida a 'better guy' tho....he had one sub win over a pretty bad fighter who took the fight on short notice...and he was instanly launched in the MW elite

don't get me wrong, he's a great fighter, but i don't think a win over him should warrant anyone a title shot as he just doesn't have the wins in place to demand that respect

I might have to rewatch the fight but I remember Leites doing quite well until he got kneed in the face and then was falling all over the place. Then Marquardt took advantage of it and well it just built on from the illegal shot. Who knows how much that took out of him.

I think Leites has a better chance at Silva then Marquardt does.

I think him getting a shot would be a pretty good idea, like who else is there? The only other guy that deserves is Okami. Either of them is fine by me cause either way there probably jsut gonna get killed in there

Leites would get TKO'd by Silva, he has a habit of getting rocked early.

He still held wins over some of the best in the division, even if those wins were a little dated. And let's not forget that almost everyone who knew who Ricardo was predicted a quick sub against Patrick.

Cote didn't deserve a shot after his fight with McFedries, either. The Almeida win cinched it.

I'm not saying his recent win over McFredies should get him a title shot by itself but with that recent win plus his 4 others he should get it.

Right now he has won 5 straight fights which is more than any one else in the division has. Both Patriack Cote and and Nate Marquardt got title shots after only 4 straight wins so why not Leites?

I wouldn't mind seeing Leites get a title shot, but I also want to see him face Nate again. Marquardt looked really good against Kampmann, so yeah, I'd be digging a rematch.

Marquardt vs Leites 2 is the match up that should be made and if Leites wins it then he should get a shot or at least be up there.
