Should Cote really be proud of making it to the 3rd round with Silva?

when his knee gave up just seconds INTO the 3rd, and the first 2 rounds Silva was just goofing around

Why not?

Just goofing around? Well that's your opinion, but I would suspect that none of us on this forum would be privvy to information like that since none of us know Anderson personally. That being said, why wouldn't Cote be happy --> he did mention it after the fight, and nobody else has made it that far with Anderson (at least not in the UFC anyway). Since I also suspect there were very few people that gave Cote a chance in hell of winning this fight, I think he should be happy. Everyone thought Cote was gonna get railroaded and he didn't --> He took 1 knee, one good puch, and was taken down once. That's about all that happened in this so called "Fight"

Let's Bang!

There is a reason Silva was goofing around for 2 rounds against Cote. If you listen to his post fight interview you'll understand.

I think he should take some credit for it. If it wasn't for his tough chin, he wouldn't have made it. Silva had some hard shots that could have knockdown/out anybody, but Cote never fell. He should be proud of himself for staying in the fight. He may have not won the rounds, but he stood in there with Silva, which is half the battle.

I guess if Cote wants to be proud that he lasted until the 3rd round, more power to him. If I were him I wouldn't be. Moral victories are what losers create to lessen the sting of defeat. It doesn't matter if he lost in round 1 or round 5, it's still a loss.

Who are you to decide if a man should be proud of his actions or not?
