I think Junior looked good, Im not so sure about the punching power though. Yes he has probably heavy hands but the punch that caught Werdum was prefectly thrown and landed. Werdum was moving his head down on a fully winded punch, 1+1=2

Why bother padding their records by 'building them up' against cans? Look at it from the other point of view, one of these guys is going to emerge as a pretty big force, then bam. You've got yourself a contender. You want to see who is the best? Then let them fight to see for yourself. It's unfair and stupid to simply pad records for the fighters that you like because you don't want them to lose.

no one is padding anything....these guys are relatively new to the mma game....w/ an average of just over 7 fights each. look at what the ufc did w/ Maynard.....they gave him 2 lower end fights, then let him step up against better competition....it gives these guys more time to train at the elite level...

it isn't unfair and stupid...it's stupid IMO to have 2 young, promising, inexperienced HW's face off against each other when the division is thin enough as it is...remember, it's a sport, but it's also a business...and it would be a bad investment for the UFC to have these guys fight each other right now

I see where you're going here, and although it wouldn't be good to set back any of these guys with a loss...there really aren't any other options right now in the division.

I'm voting for Eddie Sanchez and Paolei to be fed to Dos Santos & Carwin. When they both win - they can face eachother.

I would like to see dos Santos fight Kongo (after his UFC92 bout with Al-Turk) since it would be a good stand up war and give Junior more time to work on his ground game.

Gonzaga vs dos Santos - UFC on VS
Vera vs Jones - UFC on VS
Bibs vs Hansen - Dream 13
GSP vs Hardy - UFC 112
Gomi vs Florian - UFN 21
Nelson vs Struve - UFN 21

Uh, why? He has a BJJ black belt. Dunno how his ground & pound is, though.

I was under the impression that he had only been training BJJ for 3 years, and only seriously for the last 2 years...do you have a source?
