Giving respect to the KOS and the Shark
First of all, hands down to Sherk and Griffin for putting on what I felt was a very exciting bout. These guys were warriors and I was impressed.
As for KOS, I have to admit, this guy just gets under my skin. With that said, his last 2 fights have really earned my respect and despite taking a fight 2 weeks out, he proved he had the heart of a lion.
RESPECT.
Anyone else want to throw out some comments on both fighters and what may be in their future inside the octagon?

I have always liked/respected Sherk. I started to get sick of Koscheck a while ago, but I was impressed that he could hang in there after some of the shots that he took. I thought that he was going to get steamrolled in the 1st. He fought a good second round, but most of the time he looked like a punching bag. Thiago rules though.

I have to agree. Sherk and Griffin put on an amazing fight to start off the night.
It has taken me awhile to get on Koscheck's side, but I'm liking him more an more. He just needs to keep the ego in check.
And Alves, well, I'm always going to WANT to hate the guy, but he looked awesome. The guy was throwing accurate head kicks with zero telegraphing. That's very rare these days. And man did he look big compared to Kos...and Kos isn't a tiny guy either.

Great thread. I missed the sherk/ griffin match, because I was out to eat. Sherk has always had my respect, but I am not sure if I am a fan of his yet. I used to despise Kos, but something has happened along the way, and he has really earned my respect, I consider myself a fan of Josh Koscheck. He really seems to have matured as a man and a fighter, he seems to be trying very hard to round out his skill set, and I admire this in a fighter. He was outmatched by Alves, but he hung tough, and I cannot wait to see his next fight!

I admit, I kinda hated Koscheck since the Tuf series, but he's not the complete ass he seemed to be. His fighting has progressed leaps and bounds since the show, so I'd like to see him do well from now on.

Most people hate Koscheck because of the TUF show. But really, its a reality show, where they show only certain things. Also imagine being in a house with that many other guys, and that many other ego's. Its going to make you do things you wouldnt normally do.
I have always liked Koscheck. Even on the show for some reason. He really doesnt need to be boo'd everytime he shows up at the weigh-ins or gets announced in a fight. He seems like a decent guy who made a mistake on the show. No1 can hate this guy for any other reason. He is an exciting fighter now.
For some parts of the Alves Koscheck fight, he was landing some very good strikes to. I didnt expecting him to hang in there like that. Plus he took some huge punches and knees to the face and still kept fighting. Very tough guy who doesnt give up. For sure on my top10 favs.

Yeah I have the same outlook on KOS.
Besides the pubic hair on his head, he doesn't resemble the dick that he used to.

I've always liked/respected Sherk, Koscheck on the other hand I did not. But I gained a lot of respect for him as a fighter and a person this weekend, even though he lost I was really impressed with his performance.
Now if he'd just cut his god damned hair.

Where Kos really surprised me in this fight was the quality of his chin. That knee was perfect. On the money with pleny of power and Josh didn't go lights out.
