still got love for Liddell

It seems to me that after Blitzing through a lot of opposition and being a LHW Champ, suddenly after some losses Chuck Liddell seems to have fallen from grace.
Liddell has indeed got holes in his game but hes human, at least he always makes a fight of it and goes out on his sheild.
Why do some "fans" seem to have forgotten him and even when posting have put the boot in to what used to be a firm fan favourite.
How about it, have you still got love for Liddell?

TEAM GROTTY 2013
Stefan Struve
Donald Cerrone
Glover Texiera
Cub Swanson

Honestly, I've never had love for Liddell, I always rooted against him, no matter who he was fighting.

His fights are always exciting, and like you said, he's there to fight, not to look pretty. Those are good qualities.

But I always maintained while he was being built up that he never really fought a good striker, and now 3 out of the last 4 have exposed him.

I don't hate Chuck, I don't care for him any less than I ever did before either.

I like Chuck still. Always puts in the effort but just having a streak of bad luck lately. Or is he getting older and less able we'l have to wait and see. I think something changed big time with his second loss to Rampage. And i don't know of anyone who would have taken the overhand from Rashad Evans and not gone down. So to answer the question i hope we see more from him. I dont know will he ever take back the belt though.

I reckon i'd have jon jones

The whole chuck never fought strikers argument is getting old. He fought and dominated some of the best strikers at their time.. Guy Mezger, Vitor Belfort, Alistair Overeem and Wanderlei Silva. Yeah, he fought more grapplers, but those were the contenders at the time. Who else should they have given him during the Couture/Ortiz/Babalu days that had earned a shot?

IMO Chuck's age might be catching up with him a little.. younger athletic guys like Rashad and Rampage seem to be out-timing him. That, and his style is getting predictable .. he's completely given up his kicking game which used to be a huge part of his arsenal, and his one-dimensional stand-up has been analysed and picked apart. I still think if he reinvents himself and evolves, he can become a dominant force in the division again. If not, the Iceman still has an amazing legacy to be proud of and retire.

I'm not a Chuck fan, but I respect what he has accomplished. He's beaten some great fighters and took fights he shouldn't have taken.
