You can name as many other guys as you want but Chuck is takedown defense. period. He may be mainstream but that is his bread and butter and he is a monster at it.

Chuck Liddell as everyone has said has probably the best take down defense in MMA right now.

Fedor Emelianenko would be a good choice, in my opinion. Mark Coleman didn't take him down as much as he usually does to other opponents at their fight at PRIDE 32: The Real Deal.

My Favourite Fighters
Ken Shamrock
Vitor Belfort
Fedor Emelianenko
Georges St. Pierre
Wanderlei Silva
Rich Franklin
Mark Kerr
Chuck Liddell
Robbie Lawler
B.J. Penn
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Chris Leben
Nick Diaz

we're talking about takedown defense not over fighting ability plus if the iceman ever fought mirko im sure alot of people would argee with me that he has a very good chance of knocking out the iceman chuck hasnt really fought many great strikers

probably chuck or bj penn, bj has great balance and flexibility so it is hard to get him down

Mac Danzig and his bird feeder once visited the Virgin Islands. They are now The Islands.
Mac Danzig can kill two fighters with one bird feeder.
Superman owns a pair of Mac Danzig bird feeder pajamas.

agreed chuck and bj are probably best. Randy Couture has said about 10 times how hard he found BJ Penn to get down so thats good enough for my vote, randy being a legend and all.

chucks ability just to stand right up amazes also, and BJ's crazy flexibility....unreal stuff.
