Affliction owner “I hope f***ing Lesnar kills Couture”

After settling the long and drawn out dispute with the UFC, heavyweight champion, Randy Couture could have been excused for thinking the mud slinging had finished but it seems the Affliction management have taken exception to the star.

Appearing on the Scott Ferrall Show, Affliction co-founder Todd Beard directed his attention and wrath towards Couture saying:

“Randy, if you’re listening right now, I hope (expletive) Lesnar kills you.”

It would appear that Beard is less than impressed by Couture’s return to the UFC octagon, but as Couture explained this week to

“Realistically, I’ve got a short window of opportunity to continue to compete at this level, so I need to take advantage of that while the window’s still open.”

“I really don’t understand where Todd Beard’s coming from in his attack to me, my wife, and my attorney, and now the Ferttitas and Lorenzo specifically, and Dana White. I don’t understand it.”

“He feels there’s this adversarial relationship created and I just don’t get it. It’s gone beyond kind of the antics of being a promoter, so we’ll see how all that unfolds, and where the relationship stands, and where we end up with that down the road.”

“Frankly, it’s a bunch of crap and I don’t need anymore crap in my life, so focus on the positive, which is this fight which is in two weeks and let the rest of that stuff go.”

Couture’s fight against the behemoth Brock Lesnar will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 15th as part of UFC 91.

I'm not the biggest fan of the higher ups in affliction. You can't get a straight answer out of Tom Atencio for anything (his postponment of Day of Reckoning) and this dude Todd Beard sounds lik a f*kn mad man

Hahahaha, this made my night.

Affliction owners should try and not show anger, especially since the UFC is turning into an MMA headhunter.

Anger is a sign of weakness if you ask me.

mmaweekly posted pretty much the same article. And being an admitted Randy Nuthugger this is pretty out of order. And would be anyway. I mean you shouldnt really bring peoples family into it, and kind of smacks of bad business as Xtreme Couture shirts are probably some of their best sellers right now.
Having said that if the situations were reversed a comment like this from Dana would be pretty much par for the course so guess we cant judge to much.

Only two ways to respond to this...

1. Todd sir are a tool.

2. Affliction who? Oh yea, that other failing MMA organization that's about to fold? I think I heard of them somewhere...

unlikely, and imo just about impossible infact... but lets take a look at what would happen if Lesnar did win;

Wrestling fans would clamor to the banner of the UFC. They would tune in, in record numbers, for Lesnar's follow-up unification bout. And if Lesnar won that as well? The UFC would solidify the viewership of the Pro Wrestling demographic for all time, locking affliction out and leaving them with only the most hardcore of MMA fans even interested in their shows.

If Lesnar won it could be catestrophic for Affliction and their efforts to grow their market share.

and hating on Couture? he may not be the temple of good sportsmanship and reliable sponsorship he used to be but he still has plenty of fans. bad call.
