Rob Emerson: "I just want to be in memorable fights"

Rob Emerson talks about his future plans.

Quote:
His thoughts on EliteXC closing...

"Oh shit, I didnít even know that happened. Oh shit! After that last Kimbo show, huh? Damn! They let all of their fighters go?"

"I wonder where all of these fighters are going to go now? Thatís crazy how all of these shows pop up, but dude, the UFC seems to be the only one that has it figured out. You look at all of these other shows and no matter who they have backing them, in 2 or 3 years, they're done. The UFC is a brand and itís established. People that are not even that big of a fan go, 'Oh, you do UFC?' I have to tell them Iím a MMA fighter, but the UFC is the organization I fight for. UFC has built such a brand that people almost see it as a sport."

On his future plans...

"I definitely want to break in the top 10 within the next year. Within my next 2 or 3 fights at the most, I want to be in the top 10. I want to get in there and get in title contention. Hopefully I can be fighting for a title in a couple of years, but weíll see what happens."

His thoughts on TUF8 and guys like Junie Browning...

"I think itís entertaining. The kid is a fighter for a reason. We all have problems and stuff. I personally like Junie Browning. I like his fighting style. He attracts attention and you want that. Heíll mature as a person and a fighter in the UFC. I think he has the talent, it just takes time for some fighters to mature."

Aw, it's cute to see him being so shy! Rob could've been the champion by now, but because of his generosity he's letting BJ Penn & the other lightweights stay at the top until his patience is gone.

It is about time Rob is trying to accomplish his destiny. I mean his mor athletic then anyone in the LightWeight division, it always suprised me that he wasent ranked top10, its prolly because he never really had a desire for the sport but now i think we will see a new Rob thats just going to run through the lightweight divison and maybe even the welterweight division if were lucky. No more shitty decisions for Rob, i think his finishing all his fights from now.

Seriously guys. This started off as a funny wit within this forum, but he's a great fighter. All his losses have come from close decisions. And most of you probably remember his famous double KO - no contest match with Gray Maynard. Some years from now he'll compete among the most talented fighters in the lightweight division.

And behold a broken fighter, and he that beat upon him, his name was Emerson, and hell followed him. And power was given to him over the four parts of the UFC, to kill with Leg kicks, with high kicks, spinning back kicks and with kicks that are yet unknown.

Rotten Rob is looking out for you, the fans. In his mind, he likes giving you guys a show, but won't actually go full speed because he doesn't want to kill his opponent and scare the people away. St. Leg-Kicker knows that MMA rests on his shoulders.

Maynard got his ass kicked, Nakamura got dominated and Manny didn't even have a chance. All those guys are top LW's. Rotten Rob treated them like trash.

yeh...of all the wins gray maynard has, his NC against rotten rob was probably the most important of them all....that is a hell of an accomplishment .... taking Rotten rob to a NC is probably better than defeating clementi and edgar combined frankly

as for rotten rob himself, the guy knows what he wants to do...and he's basically in the top 10 skillwise for LW, but the UFC needs to start giving him better competition...like wtf was w/ the manny match? rob's demolition of manny was like a statement to joe silva saying is this a joke?

Rob is just trying to be cute. Just go after the LW belt?

Please.

We ALL know his ulterior plan is to go after the LW, WW, MW, LHW, and the HW belts all at once. He will be the first and last person to do so.
