I thought Shayna Baszler was kind of cute with her little gymnast build.

Someone convince that hot pole vaulter to take up MMA.

Let me make a probably controversial analogy to explain how some people can feel that way. How would you feel about kids fighting in full blown mma, like little 6 year old kids right in that cage, complete with full brutal Muay Thai elbows and knees. Now before everyone starts hating me for comparing adult women to children, please let me explain more . Yes, grown women are adults in full charge of their destinies and I'm in no way implying that they should be treated like children. What I'm trying to do is explain how people can have a protective instinct towards someone based on age or other factors (in this case, gender).

I plead guilty on the count of gender. Lets face it, most women are physically vulnerable to stronger men, and in the immortal words of Ben Parker, with great strength comes great responsibility. Maybe it's cultural, evolutionary or whatever, but it's built in guys to want to protect women. Maybe women nowadays find it bellitling, or restricting on their freedoms, and fair enough. I don't feel I need to apologize for it though or be forced to suppress it .. I mean it's better than the other extreme alternative of scumbag guys that beat up on women.

If protecting me means supporting my fight sport hobbies and all the stuff I have to buy to pursue them, I'm all for it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't , not for me anyway. But then you've probably got yourself a man that does, so good for you.

I'd be happy seeing a fight ever so often, they don't have to create a whole division, but I think there is probably more talented fighters out there than he thinks
WEC WEC WEC CMON ZUFFA geez! why talk about the UFC for women fighters when men of that class aren't considered enough of a draw for the UFC? Put them in the WEC where they can build viewership you Fertitta fools!

No offense taken, and our last "war" was WW2 against Soviets. Our military strategy is based almost entirely on defense (which is why its called "Finnish defense forces") and our anti-tank, anti-air, artillery and guerilla forces are well trained and geared and specializes on fighting on cold arctic warfare.
We indeed aren't part of NATO and I personally see no reason to be although its one of the hot topics during every election here, but our Peace Support troops are well respected and pretty much best ones available on UN missions.

Interesting info though, I didn't know women can't do anti-tank training in US. Its damn hard and exhausting training though so there prolly wouldn't be alot of women doing it anyway, but actual rule that they aren't allowed to do it is surprising. I know quite a few girls that would do damn well there, its very patronizing and rude to deny it from them just because of gender.

Women's judo is one of the most popular sports among women now and its damn entertaining to watch. I want women mma to grow so much that we'll actually start seeing top level female judokas doing mma, for that to happen it requires a huge organization like ufc to start running the division though. Hopefully ufc ends up hosting that Carano vs. Cyborg -fight atleast.

I like posting links too.

And besides, women in the military is just one example. What about female police officers or firefighters that risk or lose their lives in America? That is acceptable to the general public, but women fighting in MMA isn't?
