Kongo and Dollaway part of finalized UFC 92 main card

The UFC's year-end events takes place Dec. 27 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and airs on pay per view.

The UFC today officially announced those bouts, as well as the night's preliminary card, for UFC 92. As in years' past, the UFC's year-end pay-per-view event is one of the year's stronger cards with two title fights and a potential No. 1 contender's bout between Jackson and Silva.

Aside from a heavyweight bout between Dan Evensen and Pat Berry, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) previously reported or passed along news of the other UFC 92 bouts, including the recent addition of fan favorite Matt Hamill vs. UFC rookie Reese Andy.

One surprise from the line-up is the placement of Yushin Okami, who is perhaps now the No. 1 middleweight contender, on the night's un-televised preliminary card. Okami, who fights for the first time since his second-round knockout of Evan Tanner in March, has won eight of his past nine fights and now has a 6-1 record in the UFC.

The UFC 92 card now includes:

MAIN CARD

Champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (for interim UFC heavyweight title)
Champ Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (for UFC light heavyweight title)
C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio
Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva
Mustafa Al-Turk vs. Cheick Kongo
PRELIMINARY CARD

Dean Lister vs. Yushin Okami
Mark Burch vs. Antoni Hardonk
Reese Andy vs. Matt Hamill
Brad Blackburn vs. Ryo Chonan
Pat Berry vs. Dan Evensen

I don't get the UFC sometimes when they finalize there cards why is Okami/Lister on the prelims and Dollaway/Massenzio on the main card? I know that Dollaway went to the finals on TUF 7 but wouldn't you want who everybody at least assumes is the #1 contender in Okami to be on the main card?

That is why you put him on the main card so people don't know who Anderson Silva is fighting when him and Okami fight.

Dollaway vs Massenzio is going to be a lot of fun. Massenzio is IMO going to win it to. Mike and CB are both good wrestlers with good grappling backgrounds.

Mike is a young talent and I think he will beat CB.

Massenzio and Catone IMO are going to beat both the winner and the runner up of TUF on back to back cards.

And about Okami vs Lister not being on the main card I mean come on. Neither guy is exicting at all with 2 title fights you are just asking for a 3 round decision and a very long card.

I dunno man, am I the only one that is kinda disappointed in this card. Yes there are 3 big fights but I think only one will be exciting.

Forrest and Rashad is going to the worst fight of the night. It will be 5 rounds of Rashad bobbing and weaving with Forrest moving in and out throwing leg kicks, trying not to get KO'd.

Mir vs Nog would be fun if it hit the ground but most likely Nog will pick Mir apart until Mir gasses and gets finished.

Wand vs Page will be fun as hell. Im not gonna lie.

And these other 2 fights will suck. Kongo fights torture.

I honestly cannot believe the fights they have on the main card vs the preliminaries. Chonnan and Okami are on the priliminaries?! I know you gotta make money with the names that are more familiar to the casual fan, but come on Dana!!

I am pretty pissed about Okami being on the undercard! I am a Dolloway fan and have been since the beginning of the TUF season but putting him and Kongo on the main card over Okami is retarded

Gonzaga vs dos Santos - UFC on VS
Vera vs Jones - UFC on VS
Bibs vs Hansen - Dream 13
GSP vs Hardy - UFC 112
Gomi vs Florian - UFN 21
Nelson vs Struve - UFN 21

I am right there with ya. Card has potential to be great, but I see it being lackluster. Page vs Wandy is going to be awesome no one can deny that, but I think we will see a points based decision with Griffin/Evans and a slow fight with Nog/Mir but with an exciting finish. I am kind of glad to see Okami vs Lister off the main card because I really dont want to see Lister the man is boring as ****, but at least replace it with soe exciting lightweights or something to get the night going.
