Junior Dos Santos

I may be a little late on this thread, I haven't been able to post much since UFC 90 so if this has been done I apologize.

Either way, I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks of Junior. I was looking up some old fight clips and I think this kid has a ton of potential... I'm a little one sided cause I really don't like Werdum, but my favorite moment of UFC 90 was that knockout.

So my question is... do you guys (and gals) chalk that up for a lucky punch? Or do you think this guy could be a champion or at least a legit competitor in a couple of years?

I would love to see Junion figh Cain personally.

The mods might close this because their was already a thread like this after UFC 90 but my opinion is it was a skilled punch and a fantastic one.

He has a lot of potential. However if they match him up against Cain he is getting destroyed. Cain has better wrestling and a better ground game. And while I haven't seen enough of it so I don't know rumor is his stand up is amazing and that's coming out of AKA but idk how much I buy into that.

Cain would win by GnP round 1.

Well it definitely wasn't a lucky punch, because Werdum's standup is still quite horrible. Dos Santos standup is obviously better than Werdum's.

I don't think he'll be a beast because there are plenty of guys better on the ground than him, and plenty of better wrestlers.

I think he'll be a fun guy to have in the division though. I'd like to see him fight Kongo, Herring and Hardonk.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

i think he will be a force in the next couple of years, he's really young and still has a lot to learn obviously but find it funny that people say that there a lot of people with a better ground game when we're yet to see him on his back or g'n'p. the fact he's a purple bjj under Nogueira means he cant be that bad.

Favourite Fighters:

Dan 'The Outlaw' Hardy
Anderson 'The Spider' Silva
Renato 'Babalu' Sobral
Michael 'The Count' Bisping
Thiago 'The Pitbull' Alves
Kenny 'Kenflo' Florian
Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson

Should put him up against carwin or kongo IMO see how he does with another striker and a big strong wrestler, don't forget he most likely has good bjj to .

Very well timed punch, he said after the fight that Werdum drops his head for the jab, so its very skilled. He looks very promosing, his stand up was looking very crisp, although thats all we learned about him that fight, i have no idea if he has any wrestling or jui-jitsu, but i'm guessing he has good jui-jitsu as Nog is his coach.

Events Attended: UFC 120, CWFC 45, CWFC 52
