When I first heard this I was upset but honestly this means I probably get to see Werdum vs Barnett which I'm dying to see.

So IMO this is a big loss for the UFC. Not because of drawing power but outside of Nogueira they now have one other clear top 10 fighter and he hasn't fought in over a year.

The UFC HW divison has some young fighters but who are they going to beat to prove they are legit? All the best HW's in the world beside Nogueira are either in Affliction or Free Agents.

The UFC HW divison is in real trouble not because they don't have talent but they have no legit HW's besides their Champions and Gonzaga.

BTW Flak I'm not sure how Werdum is boring since he has won only 1 decision in his whole career and none in the UFC.

Way to go dumbasses you just lost another HW and one of the better ones. Utterly stupid.
This is arguably my favorite division and I realize there is some developing talent in it, but with the departure of Arlovski and now Werdum my interest is diminishing. Hopefully the UFC will use better management practices with the HWs they have remaining.

I just don't like his style, i don't find it particularly entertaining is all.

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but itís too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyoneís ass.

I wonder what that really means...that they failed to agree on the terms of the contract or whatever. That makes me wonder

Werdum is to much of a risk for the money, not only did Wedum get knocked out, everyone can caught and Dana knows that but the thing is that Werdum looked fat and outta shape, did anyone not think Werdum looked in the worst shape of his career? Dana doesnt want a ballooning Werdum. Werdum disrespected the UFC by not showing up ready to fight then he got knocked out, and thats the real problem.

Maybe him and Fihlo can open that Doughnut Shop now

Absolutely fuc-king ridiculous.

I guess I can kind of see why this happened, Werdum really was not pulling in many viewers as far as I know and he was therefore being shafted by the UFC and was obviously pissed...so there's reason from both sides.

I'm still shocked they didn't re-sign him, because whether they like it or not Werdum is a top 10 heavyweight and had 2 consecutive wins over two top UFC HW's, this pisses me off.

Werdum has been one of my favourite HW's for a while now, and although I did pick Dos Santos over him for the upset in his last fight there was still so many good matchups for him in the UFC.

God damn this sucks.

I was never really all that interested in Werdum, but the UFC needs every good HW they have left. It's strange that they would let him go so quickly, though.

You picked Dos Santos to win?! Are you sure you didn make that pick after it already happened? lol The HW division is fine it still has Couture and Nog who are 2 of the top 3 HWs in the world and it has Gonzaga, Valazquez, Carwin, Kongo, Herring, Mir, Dos Santos who is gonna start picking up steam after that performance, and the great BROCK LESNAR!!!! (I know i'll take heat for but when he wins this tourney by beating 2 of the best HWs ever then you will see)

Terrible. Just further proof that the UFC only wants you if you can be marketed. The only thing guys like Werdum etc. have going for them is an impressive win list(in terms of marketability, obviously he is a great fighter). This was predicatable, yet sad. I really wanted to see Nog/Werdum II.
