I am a pretty big UFC Fan. Every year the wife and I go to Vegas, this year I am trying to plan our trip around a UFC Fight Weekend also.

I see on ufc.com they have UFC94 to be at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. This is perfect, as we normally stay there anyway.

My question is, for the people who have seen a UFC event in person, how is the viewing, and specifically at the MGM Grand, is there a section better than others?

Also, would your recommend using the standard concierge service, or just getting thru Ticket Master?

Also, any rumors on who will be fighting in UFC94?

Closer is not neccessarily better. I was at the UFC event in Montreal on the third level which was great, but 2 would have been better. A journalist friend of mine who covered the fight was on the floor about 10 feet from the cage. She said she couldn't see a thing!
I've never seen the arena inside the MGM Grand, but I would imagine the set up is about the same.

I went to the Sherk vs Penn fight at MGM. Most of the seats are stadium style so you really don't have to worry about a tall person in front of you or anything, and security is pretty good too, all the fights I saw were broken up within a minute or so. I got the tickets in the $300 range or so and they were pretty good, I could make out the fighters and the stand up game and things like that, but a lot of the grappling (thankfully there wasn't much) you have to look at the big screens to see arm bar attempts and what not, but GnP is pretty easy to see.

Just watch the announcer guy for a good time though, you will damn near die of laughter at how amped up he gets while announcing the fighters and how quick and jerky his movements are. I bought my tickets through ticket master and had no problems, you just print out your tickets.

I've been to two in Vegas, one at the MGM for Penn vs. Sherk and one at Mandalay Bay for Hughes vs. GSP III. Both were great, I sat in the lower bowl and I could see the fights just fine. If it hit the ground there were massive screens above to see the little things the fighter's were doing.

The atmosphere is just unbelievable, fans get along great and the fighters you see around the hotels are the nicest professionals you'll ever meet, they all stop to at least shake your hand and say hi and about 95% will take pictures or sign something you have.

I'd say Mandalay had there shit together for the fights a lot better than MGM. Better security and kept things very organized. MGM did a great job as well but at the weigh ins people were told to not stand in the middle but yet about a hundred people did and they didn't do a thing about it.

I completely agree Mandalay > MGM, but from what I have heard about other venues MGM does a pretty good job. Mandalay has just hosted so many that they just go into auto mode, lol.

On a side note Mandalay's pool is freakin awesome.
