Wanderlei vs Rampage - Is it just me or..
Is it just me or is it weird that Wanderlei, having beat Rampage down pretty hard twice is even money with each other.
They both pay exactly 1.86 even though Wanderlei has beat him twice!! I realize Rampage is a different fighter since he last fought Wanderlei but in some ways I see the same old Rampage just much more refined. Also given what Rampage has just gone through, i guess this just stood out as odd. Anyone else think the same?

I think I'm missing something, they pay 1.86 to what?

I believe he's referring to the odds on the fight. Meaning they both have the same odds (1.86).
I don't think it's that odd, considering Rampage was the UFC champ for a while, and some believe he is much improved from his Pride days.

Most people haven't seen those earlier fights. They have seen Rampage beat Liddell so they give Rampage a little more credit then he should get.
Given their history and Rampages suspect mental state I expect Silva to win this without much trouble.

Considering that Rampage was the UFC champ there for a while I think it's pretty reasonable. Not to say there isn't a very good chance the match will end just like the two previous bouts.

You can't base future fights on fights that happened 4 years ago. Yeah, you can predict a little, but you would have to give Rampage credit for beating Lindland, Eastman, Liddell, and Dan Henderson since his last loss to a Chute Box fighter.
That is why the odds are even. Plus, Wandy, it could be argued, is declining towards the later part of his career.

Wandy beat Rampage twice, but in the MMA world that almost seems a whole lifetime ago. Before Pride crashed Hendo beat Wandy, and Rampage beat Hendo. I know MMA math doesn't work but when making odds I can see how they would be ranked even. Wandy came off a 3 fight losing streak to beat Jardine who was underrated at the time. At the same time Rampage took care of Liddell and Hendo and lost a close decision to Griffen.
I don't know who will win but I almost hope they both plant their feet and start swinging and lets see who falls first.

the reason is because wanderlei isn't as dominant as he used to be and the competition he's facing has really improved....wanderlei isn't even a top 5 LHW anymore, while rampage is....IMO...and in the UFC, he's looked pretty bad against Chuck and KO'd Jardine quickly...that doesn't tell me enough about him in the UFC to prove to me he can even survive 3 rounds with rampage...and i don't think he will

I think the odds would favor Rampage even more if his mental state wasn't in question. I'm not a gambler so im not sure if that short of stuff is taken into account.

I truly miss the days that Wandi was top 5. But it does make sense that they would have the same betting odds, Rampage has beaten some very tight competition lately and and Wandi has in the past. About him being more refined, that's exactly the point, his stand-up is much more crisper and I don't see Wand taking him down. This match is going to be so exciting! I don't even know who to bet on in this one.
