Okay so some fights it was 76" but others it was shorter and one it was longer, so as I said, what do we go by? How reliable is the tale of the tape? and WTF is their reach from armpit to knuckle?

I think you have discovered the secret to the riddum, its must have something to do with the random reach.

I agree with your original post btw.

Half-guard is the way to go for GSP.
The last time they met, Penn was about to put an omaplata on GSP while in the full guard right before the round ended.

As far as striking goes... GSP was pretty banged up after that bout... so the reach difference didnt play too much into that... whatever the reach difference really was

Yeah I think half-guard is a very good position for a wrestler/g-n-p'er. GSP has great jitz from top position but I really don't think he will sub BJ.

I am interested to see if BJ unveils any new moves like the rubber guard that came out of nowhere and Nate Diaz's very effecitve step over move. I think BJ should be able to incorporate something new in his BJJ game.

I hope BJ wins, but I love GSP too, so it wouldn't suck to see him win. I really enjoy both fighters. I think GSP wins this one because I really haven't seen much from BJ when he fights at 170 or more. He is great but not the same.

BJ can win and I think he will. I agree with what you guys were saying about gsp staying in half gaurd, thats the best place for him to be. Anywhere else is always a danger for gsp. But i think bj will be too good on the day and im going for BJ by sub in the 4th

He better win, i gots money on it!

The only way I see GSP stoping Penn is if Penn gasses... He cound't do much in his guard in ufc 58 and I expect the same. I agree that half guard will prevent GSP from posturing up.... Off his back ofcourse Penn is dangerous but I dont see Penn submitting him... GSP via UD or TKO via empty Penn gas tank...
