I think you need to suck it up, give him his high ranking, and see if he can defend it.

I dont think a career dictates your ranking, but how easily you stay in the top 10. Despite his recent losses, Sylvia is still top 10 because of his career. Whereas if Brock lost a couple back to back....he'd drop out of the top 10 quicker than shit.
Yeah, I agree. Where do you think he goes then? Sylvia's place? Or Randy's?

I think you have to take a combination of who you beat, and who you're able to beat, but i also strongly agree with the bolded line
i'd say the only people you can put above brock is
1. Fedor
2. Nog
3. Arlovski
4. Lesnar
5. Couture
6. Barnett
7. Sylvia
8. Werdum
9.Gonzaga
10. Mir

if brock beats Nog (and nog beats mir)

1. Fedor (assuming he wins, if he loses: arlovski, fedor brock)
2. Brock
3. Arlovski
4. Nog

i would respectfully disagree...big tim is 1-3..how is he still ranked in the top 5, seriously....

and aside from a good performance against a borderline top10-top15 fighter, what has arlovski done lately?

werdum has lost to arlovski and just got crumbled by an unranked fighter....and he doesn't hold any victories over elite fighters

randy, having beaten sylvia and gonzaga in the last year and a half actually had the most impressive resume of all HW's over the last 2 years...who else had dominated 2 top HW's? nog, no...fedor, no....sylvia, hell no...arlovski, hell no...werdum, hell no....

2 big wins over top 10 competition....forrest is ranked #1 for God's sake and that's all he has...Rampage was ranked #1 after beating chuck and hendo....

I dont understand how you could possibly have Tim Sylvia as a top 5 fighter..........

The rest I could live with although maybe Randy ahead of Gonzaga.....

Because the HW divison sucks that's why Sylvia is top 5.

Fedor - he's Fedor.

Nogueira - Beat Sylvia and Herring but hasn't been overly impressive lately.

Arlovski - Is 5-0 with some very good wins but hasn't been exactly impressive in awhile

Barnett - 3-0 this year with wins over Rizzo, Monson, and Yoshida not top 10 guys but all very skilled and solid he also beat them all at their own games.

Sylvia - Has had struggles but did beat Vera and then gave Nogueira one hell of a fight. Now he got destroyed by Fedor but to be fair it was Fedor

Werdum - Finished Gonzaga and Vera and while he got Knocked out in his last fight to disregard the rest of his year is unfair.

Lesnar - On a 2 fight win streak but doesn't have the history of other guys which means something. Wins over Herring and Couture are impressive but he also in this year lost to Frank Mir which has to be considered a bit.

Gonzaga - Hasn't beaten a good fighter since Cro Cop

Overeem - Has some good wins recently but losing to Sergei hurt him

Couture - Had two big wins but that's it for 6 years. And now with the loss to Lesnar he's on his way out of the top 10.

why are you saying "6 years"? he competed at LHW for a long time....it just sounds childish...gonzaga has 1 good win in his last 6 years...see how silly that sounds?

and no victory over Vera is that impressive...especially Sylvia's...that was clinch and pray at it's best

Because the guy hadn't been fighting at HW. You can't give him credit for winning in the LHW division. At HW he has 2 wins I didn't say good wins He has 2 wins.

And then losing to Mir is horrible since Vera trashed Mir.

I mean at HW Vera only lost to two top HW's.
