I think GG lost too Werdum because of their past match. I think he mentally folded in that match whihc affected his cardio.

A past BJJ match is a different setting than they were in. GG definitely has the tools, he just needs to use them.

Or maybe he was affected by Werdum's strikes?

Or, if you are a completely un-ripped Fedor Emelianenko.

@ Grotty

I think it's fairly obvious that Gonzaga could beat Brock. The way you talk in your post makes it sound like people would be suprised that you are picking Gonzaga. "why or even how you may ask" I don't see why anyone would need to ask.

Just my thoughts.

Personally I think Brock loses to, Nog, Werdum, Mir(possibly not), Gonzaga, Cain and if we were to go through other promotions, Fedor, Barnett.. Plenty of others. Anyone who has better Standup and BJJ than Brock would have a decent advantage. Even a guy like Alistair Overeem who could KO Brock or Submit him.

Brock is a tough fight for Randy, he normally uses his wrestling and G+P, not looking for KO's or Subs.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

Things I want to point out:

- Size =/= Strength:
Talk to anyone who's fought a wrestler (me) and they'll tell you that their size has NOTHING to do with their strength at all. My friend steve is an all european wrestler and can pick up 300lb dudes and slame them, he weighs 145. Just because Gonzo is bigger does not mean he's stronger. In fact it looked like he was overpowered in teh fight with Randy if I remember correctly (ill have to check again)

- He damn well could beat Lesnar:
Seriously GG posses excellent KO power and good submissions and good BJJ. I also think he IS really strong and could hold his own against Brock. I also think GG wins this fight hands even IF brock lays on him. But IDK if he's going to fight him unless they both lose to Nog (very very possible)

I didn't think Gonzaga slowed down due to his cardio in the Werdum fight. I thought Fabricio landed some good shots and really phased Gabe.

I think Gonzaga has all the talent to be Champion. He's young and has already been in a few big fights. He's made mistakes but from the Gabe I've looked at in the last 2 fights, it looks like he's going back to what got him to a UFC Title fight, and quit think he was the second coming of Cro Cop throwing a ton of high kicks.

I've always thought a more matured Gonzaga can beat Fedor and I see him as a real tough fight for Lesnar and Big Nog.

This Time ... Break It!

FFL Season 3: 11th Place
Quinton Jackson vs. TBA
Gesias Calvancante vs. TBA
Fabricio Werdum vs. TBA
Thales Leites vs. Anderson Silva

that is exactly what i was thinking and how does he have bad cardio i mean its not the best but it is not horrible. He got his nose broken by couture and hurt by werdum and stuck in a bad spot. He has also never been ko tko but not ko. Also if not being ripped means you have bad cardio then fedor would gas every fight and so would barnett

No, not really. Werdum's striking sucks and is not even close to the level of GG's. Werdum didn't really win, GG lost that match for himself.

I think GG could beat pretty much anyone left in the UFC HW division except for Nog and Couture.
He has good striking and a better sub game than Lesnar so I don't think he would have an issue with him

So does Fedor have bad cardio?

Gonzaga is definitely my favorite UFC Heavyweight. I cheered for him to beat Couture and I will be cheering for him all along his current title run.

I think he has all the tools to be champ and I think he could beat Lesnar with his ridiculous kicks. Take out the legs and the power punches and wrestling shoots will suffer.

Gonzaga vs dos Santos - UFC on VS
Vera vs Jones - UFC on VS
Bibs vs Hansen - Dream 13
GSP vs Hardy - UFC 112
Gomi vs Florian - UFN 21
Nelson vs Struve - UFN 21
