Gonzaga could be a Champ!

Gonzaga could be champ, why or even how you may ask, well lets start with this -
Couture was not overpowered in the clinch by Lesnar which was surprising ,Gonzaga is a damn sight stronger than Randy so perhaps Lesnar could be negated.
Lesnar is powerful but standup is still basic and Gonzagahas better striking.
Gonzaga would be a much more serious threat in the clinch and on the ground and could sub Lesnar or Nog he is good enough.
Gonzagas failing is CARDIO, i think the proof in the pudding would be Gonzaga to fight the loser of Mir/Nog i reckon he would beat Mir and could possibly beat Nog if cardio is 100 %.
The contenders really are limited and a top Gonzaga would beat Congo, Mir, Cain, Carwin. IMO, and by the way Lesnar fought the other night i could see him beating Lesnar quite convincingly.

TEAM GROTTY 2013
Stefan Struve
Donald Cerrone
Glover Texiera
Cub Swanson
Kim Dong - Hyun.

I just said this in another thread! No doubt he has the skills. He looks in better shape, which means he could be taking conditioning really seriously and when a skilled fighter does that, it makes them a contender for sure.

Its like the BJ situation, great skills makes you dangerous, but great skills and cardio make you really hard to beat.

Gonzaga is a fat, lazy bastard who got lucky with a leg kick to an already injured cro-cop. Big deal he beat a no-name bum on Saturday night.
He'll never be champ because he lacks the cardio.

Yes Bad Ace, you have a point. But as i said Napao looks stronger and fitter, if he has improved his cardio he is a contender surely because he has good striking and a world class ground game.

And 'fat' did you see him? He looks ripped, hence why i think his fitness is better.

Where's the lack of cardio? Dude got his nose smashed by Randy and got hurt by Werdum.

Hurt by Werdum? That's because he was huffing and puffing by the end of the first!

To me, Gonzaga looks like one of those fighters that will get you really pumped and excited, only to let you down in the end. He'll put together a couple good wins and then have a terrible letdown.

Yeah, that's bullshit, Werdum hurt him with strikes, it wasn't because Gonzaga gassed. Was Randy gassed before Brock hurt him, too?

Why are you making comparisons between Gonzaga and Couture? Couture is fit, Gonzaga is fat. Look at his stomach, how can you argue that he does enough cardio?

Gonzaga gassed against Werdum, but thats the only time I've seen him gas. Yeah he got "lucky" with that kick lol. He threw it and it landed, I'm guessing CroCop got lucky with all his head kicks as well, give me a break. He was dominating the fight from beginning to end. Stop with the CroCop was already injured crap, if he wasn't fit he would have backed out, he does it all the time. Its hard to find ANY HW that will not gas by the end of the fight. Unless your a ripped HW like Arlovski the chances are high that you will gas. Gonzaga has all the tools to beat Lesnar. Size isn't a problem, he has good standup and a great ground game.
