it's Matt Hughes!!

Why are people so overconfidently asserting that GSP will beat Hughes? as if he's going to just walk through him. It's nice to make predictions. As great as GSP is, he's not just fighting some bum. He's fighting Matt freakin' Hughes! the champion, one of the most dominant fighters in the sport. It just seems people are taking him lightly or something.

Bob Sacramento has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Well, people are going by their first encounter, and though Matt did win as GSP let his gaurd down at the end underestimating Hughes, he is the superior fighter. He was definatly winning the standup game, and matt took a lot of energy to take GSP down, I think Matt is outclassed and GSP will not underestimate him this time around.

Many people did the same with his last fight against BJ, and look what happened.

I wouldn't say he underestimated him, GSP said Hughes was his idle, and something like he was in shock that he was fighting him.

BJ gased because he is too fat at 170. Simply getting in proper shape to go 6-8 rounds (which is what you should be able to do to fight well at this level) would put him at 155 no problem. It will be a great fight nonetheless between GSP and Hughes...

Well if we go by the first fight, Hughes won didn't he? It doesn't matter who is winning, but who wins. Hughes arm was raised in the end. He saw an opportunity and he capitialized on it like a true champion. He locked that arm bar on quick; it came right out of nowhere. It was definitely a highlight moment in his career to me.

GSP is no doubt the future, but Hughes is still here and is as dangerous as they come.

The first fight revealed a huge disparity in striking technique between the two of them as well as Hughes' only weapon - his wrestling - which GSP can exploit as a weakness.

Hughes constantly had to readjust his feet (something he did SLOWLY) to keep GSP in front of him while trying to use a weak jab (something ELSE he did SLOWLY) while SP would move in at will and score with his hands. Then he started playing the "ground game" with Hughes......

<---These were my exact reactions after that fight and to this day I wonder how many times he looked at the fight calling himself @#@#!!! and $%$#@!!!

The only adjustment SP needs to make this time is to keep the fight standing staying to left of Hughes lead shoulder. Hughes puts his weight mostly on his lead foot, carries his lead hand low, and leaves his chin unprotected.

Distance, timing, and sharp combos are all skills GSP has and the prefect recipe for a Knockout over Matt Hughes.
