Besides, even if he had personal problems that still doesn't change the fact that he went in there with a bad game plan. Rich said that the clinch was his sweet spot. He thought that if he got into a clinch with Anderson he would be able to break out of it!
I don't personally believe the rumours, but still, I am sure fighters often do have to go through with it when they have the flu, etc ... what the hell do you do? Millions are watching around the world, you can't have Bruce Buffer come out and say ... "Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight's main event has been cancelled" Even at the weigh in, it's too late!

Franklin was clearly distraught about the fight if you look at him before he leaves his locker room. He walked to the ring without his usual swagger and you could tell something was really wrong with him. It was plainly obvious even to me, a professed Franklin non supporter. I felt bad for him going out like that.

As for Dana White, I respect what he has done for the UFC but he really needs to understand that his fighters > screwing up one PPV. Yes, I paid for the PPV, but I would not have complained if Dana said they had to cancel the fight due to a sickness on Franklin's part and they would air the fight live on a UFN or something.

Dana, you have to do a better job of taking care of your talent. Silva is a dangerous fighter and going into a fight like that at less than 100% is virtual suicide.

Ace is one of my favorite fighters and I do not believe this story. I guess my only reason would be that Rich himself would have mentioned something since his loss wouldn't he? Something as small as "Hey, I wasn't feeling well but I felt that I could beat him down anyway, I didn't and it sucks". Now that I hear it in my head, maybe he wouldn't have, sounds like an excuse. If you can, get the beginning of the Silva/Leben fight, Leben didn't look right either. I've noticed many fighters that look like "somethings wrong" before their fight.

I don't know if he was sick er whatever, but the look on his face as he walked to the cage wasn't what it usually is.

Leben and Franklin shared the same look, the look of fear

I'm tired of hearing excuses. When Franklin lost there were quickly rumors spreading that Franklin wasn't fully recuperated from his injuries going into the fight. Now weeks after the loss, it turns out he was sick too? Come on. I like Franklin; he was a great champion. But the excuses need to end.

It was pretty evident that franklin didnt look his usual self when he made his entrance, he looked pyhsically drained even before he got into the octagon.

He looked unwell to me.

I dont believe he was that sick...maybe knowing that he was about to have the shit kicked out of him gave him a tummy-ache but that's all.

I saw his face before the fight and thought he was scared. I told my buddy "Holy crap Ace looks SCARED!" Then I noticed his abdomen looked like it was throbbing or spazzing in some sort of odd way and me and my buddy were like WTF is that??? DID anyone else notice his abdomen spazzing out? Watch right b4 the fight again. I am not making an excuse for Ace I am just stating what I saw. I am a Rich fan but I think Silva will win #2 also.
