Vegas Betting Odds - Hughes the Favourite

Just checked into the betting line re: Matt Hughes and Georges St. Pierre and it shows Matt Hughes to be a comfortable favourite ... kinda surprising thought it would be closer. I wonder how often they are right, more often than not of course, but they picked Rich Franklin to win his last fight too! My gut is telling me GSP is the more inspired fighter so I somehow think he'll do it ... Who the hell are these experts that decide these betting lines???

Well, I really don't go with Vegas betting odds. I choose who I think is the better fighter. However, I do think Matt Hughes is the comfortable favorite for several reasons.

1. GSP last fight was nearly a year ago! Ring Rust could play a factor here!
2. GSP is just coming off a groin pull injury!
3. Matt Hughes beat GSP before!
4. Its possible that Matt Hughes gotten into GSP head!

All these signs say that Matt Hughes is going to win! I got 15,000 points riding on that assumption!

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I bet UFC all the time. I love it when match's come like this one. Hughes is the champ and he has a victory over GSP. Result? Vegas odds favorite even though GSP seems to be the fan favorite. I won serious money on the Silva Franklin fight. Silva, 2 fights in the UFC, against 22-1 UFC Middleweight champ? Good odds for anyone who knew who Anderson Silva was prior.

So says the bad gambler

If I had to bet, I'd say GSP (who I've already chose), because everyone you bet on loses! hahaha

All in good fun my friend

Matt McConaughey sets the odds have you scene 2 for the Money

Champs are almost always favored. I would bet on GSP though just because of the odds against him. He is a much better fighter than the odds give him. If the odds were even I would take Matt just because he has a very strong will. Althought GSP showed amazing heart in the BJ fight.

This fight is very close.
