I dont get why people rank Bisping over Maia ?

Lets be honest bisping has been junkyard central with all the cans hes been fed when used to promote the UFC in the UK, is Bisping a quality fighter ? YES... no doubt cuz he demolishes the cans hes fed. But Maia has IMO ( apart from his first fight ) dominated quality MWs like MacDonald , Ed Herman and Nate Quarry.

Well Bisping has beat a few good fighters like Leben , Day and maybe Schafer.
Bisping has a 17-1 record but if you look thru the records like i did you see that Bisping has fought a serious (like stated before ) amount of cans.

The two best opponents Bisping has fought are IMO Rashad and Hammill . He did ok in the Rashad fight and that was a great performance but he did loose... as for the Hammill fight, well i dont want to go down that road.

Id like to futher say that i dont think this is Bispings fault but rather the UFC who want the UK to have their hero ( and thats fine by me ). The reason i say this are many, but in perticular im thinking of the first loss Bisping got at LHW he got moved to MW and fought Charles McCarthy a guy ho was 1-1 in the UFC with the win coming over Gideon Ray !! in a TUF finale.

If we compare Bispings and Maias records IN THE UFC then i think Maia is the clear winner. Maia may have fought less but hes fought better and won dominating.

GIVE BISPING THE FIGHTERS HE SHOULD FIGHT WHEN HES 17-1 FFS !!!

(heres the record if you guys wanna check out the guys hes fought : )

At the moment I would put Bisping above Maia but only because Maia is a rising star, he will have his day soon enough Bisping will hit his limit soon.

simply because maia is new in the ufc. I would love to see them boys clash. I would go with bisping for the tko if he can keep it standing.

Because Bisping is straight up dominating the MW division so far. Everyone said Leben was going to beat him down, it didn't happen.

Bisping is a title contender, as is Maia. If they fought it would be where the fight took place, on their feet ( Bisping wins) or on the ground ( Maia wins).

Maia is going to be rated higher than him eventually. As for a fight between Maia and Bisping (there was another thread on this), if it gets to the ground, Bisping is done and if Bisping can keep it standing he may get a UD.

yeah... i'd hesitantly say beating leben is of higher value to me than beating quarry.

The problem from maia for me is that I don't know enough about him. Besides from his obvious skills in bjj, and maybe his take down/sweep ability, i don't know a list of things like:
how good he is in standup (when he is unable to take the opponent down)
how good his chin is
his gas tank when the pace is pushed
etc.

but i guess its not his fault no one he's fought has tested him. Which brings me to my disappointment in quarry.... i really thought quarry would test him and help answer some of those questions...

how is beating leben, day and mccharty dominating the MW division.

Maias wins over Quarry, MacDonald , Herman and Jensen are IMO much more impressive.

I think the UFC hype train has blinded a few guys to thinking that Mike is in the same league as Maia.
