You knew it was going to happen, even though he looked about the same as he did in his other fights until Brock knocked his head off.

People Randy isn't overhill he was overrated but he's still a legit top 10 HW.

Now as too why the UFC HW division sucks it has to do the top HW's not being marketable and the UFC being a lot more about money then the best fighters.

Fedor, Arlovski, Barnett, Sylvia, Werdum are all possibly better IMO then every HW but Nogueira.

I mean even besides the top guys Rothwell, Nelson, Overeem, Rizzo, and Monson are all guys who could compete in the UFC with a lot of the guys UFC consider top of their division.

The UFC has a bright future with Velasquez, Brock, and Carwin but their division ATM is bad.

Yes that is a reasonable expectation. The point I was addressing is the One title / cross promotion issue that had been raised.

It is still a great weight class world wide and I think the UFC has a lot of great young talent, but most of the established studs of the weight class are not in the UFC. I think as these guys develop and they land one or two of the current top 5 guys out there the weight class will shape up just fine.

i disagree that the ufc's heavyweight division is weak...

people keep mentioning the likes of barnett, rizzo and arlovski...

rizzo isn't even that good anymore.. as for arlovski, after getting a brutal ko at the hands of sylvia he had a few poor performances... he's only looking good lately cos he's fighting a bunch of cans in affliction.. fedor's gonna expose him like he did to sylvia

and same goes for sylvia.. i'd rather watch paint dry.. his fight with vera and monson are BORING!!!

and he got his ass handed to him by randy, so why do we even need him back in the ufc? for a SNOOZE FEST???

and these are the guys were're supposed to be missing from the ufc?? PLEASE!!!!

All I have to say is did you look at the payday for Afflictions first card? It does really seem like the HW's are expecting to get paid like HW boxers. I'm sorry, but I don't see why just weighing in over 205lbs instantly should net you a 100K+ payday. There are some quality guys who should be getting the higher amounts, but some of those guys on that card aren't even worth half of what they were paid.

We need to see more HW's taking 20K fights to prove themselves and then we will probably see a better HW divison.

That is an interesting match up. Monson isn't great off his back but if he could sweep Brock he would be able to submit him.

True, but he is good at transitions which is most likely to be Brock's biggest weakness right now being as new as he is. It is a fight that I would love to see, I think Monson would have a challenge on his hands due to reach advantage, but Lesnar isn't a lame duck fighter like Timmy, Lesnar would get in there with him.

BRING BACK MONSON!!!

The HW division in general is very thin. There just aren't a lot of big guys that are good and competitive when compared to LHW, MW etc.
