HW division is the weakest in the UFC? why?

i was wondering about the HW division in the UFC.
with Werdum cut and randy over his prime - the division isnt nearly as impressive as the the other UFC divisions.

i would say that the UFC today has less then 50% of the world's talent in the HW division.in the other division its more like 80% or 90%.

of the top 10 guys in the world the UFC only has about 5..and its not even the top 5.

they are missing :

1.Fedor <why Won't he join?! >
2.Arlovski
3.Barnett
4.Sylvia
5.Overeem

Do you agree the HW is by far the weakest division?
Why do you think that is?
Do HW guys cost more to sign or is there another reason?

Yea that's a great idea in theory but it would never work out. Having just one brand would cause a monopoly and that would mean that basically that one brand could pay it's fighters whatever they felt like, because it's not like they can go someplace else to fight.

In theory it would be amazing to see...in reality it just wouldn't work

The heavyweight division used to be so exciting! with the likes of Rizzo, Barnett, Arlovski to name a few. Now its full of out of shape guys who gas after 5 minutes

Maybe if they all got together and agreed to split the profits in a fair way then we could see the best vs the best every now and then? Its something that every mma fan would love to see

you're really going to mention HW prospects without mentioning Cain Velazquez... IMO he easily has the most promising future.

Yea I agree that would be fantastic, however Dana White and Fair rarely work out...especially when where talking about bringing in guys that would realistically have a very good chance of walking away as the new ufc champion, that would only serve to prove that the ufc =/= mma, which is something Dana would not allow imo.

In fairness they did allow Royce to come back and fight Hughes when he was signed to K1...but realistically Royce posed little threat to a Matt Hughes who was at that time near invincible.

So maybe it would be possible for them to do it occasionally for a super fight so to speak, but I doubt that they would let a guy not signed to a ufc contract get the chance to walk away as champion, which would be a real possibility especially in their HW division.

What i mean is have a belt for unified champ. not ufc, or affliction, or wec etc, but a belt in its own right, to say youre the best in your weight class in the world. not just your organisation.

Granted it will never happen, but a guy can wish
